The Overseer | Sun Feb 06 15:41:36 I'm also still waiting for a response to this. Why is it that when vaccination rates go down, incidents of diseases that the vaccinations are targetted against go up? IE: Measles after the disgraced former Dr. Wakefield spread his potential lawsuit-and-sales-of-"safe"-alternative-funded misinformation. And why is it mainly the diseases that have been vaccinated against that have dropped this much? Surely if it's just hygiene advancements, it would have affected them fairly uniformly. For instance, chickenpox isn't vaccinated against like MMR are, and is still a fairly common part of childhood. On the flipside, smallpox has also been eradicated from places where the hygiene levels are crappy at best (India is not a clean country, for example) http://www...hread=42269&time=1296601856831 |

river of blood
Member | Tue Feb 08 13:32:24 I don't know, Sam. It may very well have been from the smallpox vaccine. Your point? |
Sam Adams
Member | Tue Feb 08 13:36:35 You claimed vaccines were worthless, but it seems here that just this one vaccine got rid of one of the worst diseases in human history, saving 100s of millions of lives. |

The Overseer | Wed Feb 09 14:51:38 Such in what way? Please try and be specific instead of just giving vague generalities. |

The Overseer | Wed Feb 09 17:28:23 For someone who has argued against this and things like this so vocally and with so much passion, RoB's responses are very vague and ill-formed. I'd have really thought that someone like this who had done this much of what he calls research would have had a better and more precise response than "I'm saying that vaccines generally suck. " |
Camaban
The Overseer | Thu Feb 10 01:23:49 Seriously wondering what questions that are being asked are so unreasonable that they deserve this level of avoidance. |
miltonfriedman

Camaban
The Overseer | Thu Feb 10 16:30:53 Seriously, all of this "research" anti-vaccine posts, cheering when some guy personally believes that he himself isn't guilty, etc over the past years produces nothing more concise than "I'm saying that vaccines generally suck. " ? Really? |
Madc0w
Member | Thu Feb 10 16:42:21 How about in the case of the smallpox vaccine, RoB? It really did a lot of good, didn't it? |
Camaban
The Overseer | Thu Feb 10 16:52:25 Also waiting on an answer to my questions. Of course, if you believe that vaccines work and do what they're supposed to, then my questions become irrelevant. Just let me know if this is the case and I'll happily withdraw them. |
Madc0w
Member | Thu Feb 10 19:35:11 RoB, you are obviously avoiding this thread, since you've been active and creating other threads. You believe you're right, so why don't you defend yourself? |
miltonfriedman
Member | Fri Feb 11 00:46:47 river of basement will make another thread on the danger of vaccines in a couple of weeks once he thinks this episode "dies down." This thread needs to be ttt'd to keep that from happening. |

GTFO HOer | Mon Feb 14 16:52:31 i believe that the cost/benefit of me, as an individual, getting the flu vaccine is such that i ought not do it. overall, however, i benefit from everyone around me having taken it. oh, and Vodka both cures the common cold and is cheaper then conventional antibiotics. [just to stir the pot.] |

river of blood
Member | Tue Feb 15 14:57:45 I'm right here. Can I help you? |
Madc0w
Member | Tue Feb 15 15:46:11 So the smallpox vaccine was pretty awesome, wasn't it, RoB? Are you going to admit that? |
Camaban
The Overseer | Tue Feb 15 16:04:08 Suck in what way? Please try and be specific instead of just giving vague generalities. Someone who's spent as much time and effort as you have "researching" and debating this must surely have more specific objections than they "generally suck" Of course, if you're trying to avoid expressing anything concrete enough to be argued, then that's fair enough... Bit cowardly though... |
river of blood
Member | Tue Feb 15 18:46:25 There are thousands of vaccines. Some of them might be preferable to have had rather than not to have had. Many of them (maybe most) are either useless or quite probably doing more harm than good. And I'm in good company on this belief. |
river of blood
Member | Tue Feb 15 18:51:18 Even doctors that generally like vaccines agree that we are now WAY over innoculating people and creating serious health risks as a result. |
river of blood
Member | Tue Feb 15 18:52:41 And the whole argument about how everyone had a responsibilty to everyone else to get vaccinated for diseases is basically flawed since, if you don't want to get a particular diease, then only YOU allegedly have to get vaccinated for it. |
Camaban
The Overseer | Tue Feb 15 19:24:13 So please cite some specific examples. To save time, try avoiding anything from the disgraced former Dr. Wakefield who has most definitely not been vindicated. On your other specific claim here: >>And the whole argument about how everyone had a responsibilty to everyone else to get vaccinated for diseases is basically flawed since, if you don't want to get a particular diease, then only YOU allegedly have to get vaccinated for it. << It is commonly accepted that not all vaccines 100% work and that there are many who either haven't been vaccinated (the very, very young) or can't be vaccinated for many reasons, this is why you have had the concept of herd immunity explained to you on multiple occasions. That you continue to ignore this when trotting out bollocks like that does nothing more than confirm your lack of intellectual honesty. Why do you continually ignore the role of herd immunity in protecting those who either can't be vaccinated or haven't been vaccinated for legitimate reasons? Is it really such a difficult concept? If something this simple is a difficult concept for you, why do you persist in pretending to understand something you obviously don't? |
Camaban
The Overseer | Tue Feb 15 19:31:36 In response to your first post as well: Despite having been asked to be a bit more specific, the only way you could have really been less specific was to go back to your original "I'm saying that vaccines generally suck. " |
Sam Adams
Member | Tue Feb 15 21:14:09 so at least river is conceding part of his point. |
Camaban
The Overseer | Tue Feb 15 21:26:48 While attempting to make it impossible for anyone to identify which actual parts are/aren't conceded. Just in case someone who claims to have looked at a person once uploads a youtube video about how bad they are. |

Member | Sun Feb 20 07:44:06 I must say that water could infact heal anything if researchers aim their research towards that direction... ... my sister study to nurse and after discussing with her i suddenly always get tired after dinner. What the education do to her is forming her into a stereotype. For instance i bet my balls that my red bloodcells (eng word??) didn't search to my intertines after dinner causing cold hands and wearyness after eating, after studying along with my sister, it does! |
