It only further divides Trump from older voters who have broken against Trump in a big way according to all polling. What happens when your strongest demographic (that turns out at 80%+ rates) becomes one of your worst? We'll find out in November.

A lot can happen in 6 months and Trump is certainly aware that something must be done (this is something, therefore Trump does it). Let us just say that Biden is currently in a better position to become the next president than Trump is.
