It's kinda implausible that suddenly, a delectable number of people had it in one month, and then none the next month. Absent lockdown, such outbreaks don't appear to fizzle. False positives happen in tests.

Very few chemical or biological assays are so specific that a contaminant you didn't control for won't cause an error.
