Had he not adopted the term to describe his form of rightwing populism, we might have called his ideology Mussolinism or something, much as Stalins form of communism is often called Stalinism, in lieu of a comparative term to describe his ideology. One might almost say that Bolshevism is a more appropriate term to refer to historically authoritarian leftwing ideology, but thats still problematic because bolshevism included a fair amount of culturally conservative ideas and cannot be juxtaposed as the opposite of fascism in the same way that Marxism can.
