A recent survey found that nearly half of Floridians are considering leaving the state due to cost-of-living concerns, with 80 percent of respondents citing concerns about housing affordability and over 40 percent stating they believe the so-called “American Dream” no longer exists. Florida lawmakers have come up with a number of proposals to address affordability concerns, while another has garnered concerns that it could push more Floridians into poverty. A panel of Florida lawmakers on Wednesday, for instance, advanced one bill (HB 221) that would allow certain types of workers to temporarily “opt out” of being paid minimum wage, despite critics warning the bill would open the floodgates to exploitation and legalize cheap labor. Habebe rank	Sun Feb 08 19:54:57 I guess the idea is a shitty paying job is better than none, but, gig work IMHO fills that void. Workers generally don't get paid enough as it is. Productivity goes up, but wages go.down. We were.sold a lie that with productivity gains we would get more and better oaying jobs, in reality, it mostly goes to stock prices.
Habebe rank	Sun Feb 08 21:41:04 The dumbest part about this. 1. The companies can pay their workers less because their workers are subsidized with welfare, meanwhile the boards salaries rise with no cap and yet some expect the workers to now accept less. There is no such thing as a free lunch.
