Latvia's government falls - criticized for handling drone violations

The Latvian government has fallen.

After several Ukrainian drones flew into the country's airspace last Thursday, at least two of which crashed to the ground, a wave of criticism washed over the government.

The warning of danger only reached the population an hour after the incident was already over, the air defense failed to both detect the drones and protect the airspace, and this at the same time that Latvia's defense received a record budget to, among other things, strengthen its drone defense.

I have also heard that people are blaming Russia for the crashed drones. Supposedly, Russia hacked Starlink, took control of the drones, and crashed them into oil facilities in Latvia.

Andriy Yermak has been detained

Ukrainian President Zelensky's former chief of staff Andriy Yermak has been detained on suspicion of money laundering.

The court has set bail at 30 million SEK, Reuters reports.
