Lots of people didn't believe it at all, and it looks like such disbelief has turned out to be well warranted. There are other old conservatives on here though. garyd and kargen are the two that stand out the most. If one of these guys had a brother log in and state that they died, would anyone disbelieve them? I doubt it. These guys are (whatever their other faults) pretty trustworthy gentlemen. So all the criticism and personal flaming that Hot Rod received over the years had nothing to do with his neocon politics. It had more to do with his character than anything else. And boy did he deserve it all. What a miserable piece of crap.
