Utopia Talk / Politics / Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. Will Not Attend

Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. one of the leaders of the Civil Rights Movement has stated he will not attend the opening of The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum on Saturday because President Trump will attend.

I don't understand. The man has spent the better part of his adult life trying to achieve equality between the Blacks and the Whites. The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum is a symbol of his struggle and the struggle of many thousands of Blacks and other races. Some of them even paid the ultimate price for the cause.

I can understand that he might hate Trump, he might even believe that falsehood that Trump is a racist.

But how can he turn his back on such a singular symbol of something that is another nail in the issue that so many have fought for for so long.

This should be an open confirmation that the blacks and the whites have made not only great strides in equality, but that we are first and formost united as Americans.

I don't understand why Rep. Lewis doesn't see that when it is so obvious.

Why doesn't he attend? He could easily ignore Trump for the day. If Trump speaks, as he surly will, Lewis can leave the room, hell he doesn't even have to shake his hand and he can even turn his back on him if he likes.

Lewis is making a huge mistake. By attending he could help bring us closer together as Americans.

By not attending, he is driving the wedge a little bit deeper.

And by turning his back on the president, leaving the room?

Btw, who cares if the wedge is driven a little bit deeper. It would be good if racists were cut off and fell down in a hole.

One could easily say that Trump is the one who is driving the wedge a little bit deeper by just opening his mouth.

why be seen with such a disgusting, dishonest, delusional, unfit child?

he can visit the museum when the walking stain on American history is not there

The only reason why Trump is attending in the first place is probably because he sees a chance to offend people. Calling them pocahontas and whatnots.

Then he would show his dislike for the man.

But by attending he would be showing respect for the cause and by respecting the cause he would help bring the two races closer together.

Perhaps I'm not saying it well, but Trump will not be the only white there. There may even be some whites there that helped to get the Civil Rights Act passed.

I just think it would be better if he were to attend since he worked so hard to achieve equality.

It be fun if Lewis created an Alernative opening of the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, a private opening, and if everyone went there instead.

Trump would then be alone at the other opening. Unless the KKK comes and listen to Trump. LOL

Trump has worked very hard to spread division. Just look at what he has done so far. Just look at his approval ratings. Just look what he has done internationally. We are a laughing stock with this clownshoe as our President.

And Hot Rod supports him. Shame on you, shame on you to support a traitor to the US. Shame on you to support a person who spreads hate and division. Shame on you to support a person that has sexually assaulted women. Shame on you.

I'll be curious, but not so curious that I can listen to the speech the Twitterman will give.

How long will it take for the Twitterman to make the speech about himself and his long list of accomplishments?

Trump will definitely lie about how he was the leader in the civil rights movement when he was younger.

Like he claimed in the rally just recently how black homeownership is the highest it's ever been. Except that happened in 2002. Not present as it has gone down.

2017 43 percent
2002 49 percent.

Trump is a sexual abuser and a liar.

Probably make the claim that he gave Truman the inspiration to integrate the military. Gave MLK pointers on public speaking.
