Utopia Talk / Politics / "But Obama cost taxpayers blah blah"

"The American public spent at least $43 million in order to support President Donald Trumpā€˜s considerable golf habit in 2017."

http://www...LCNo?li=AA5a8k&ocid=spartanntp

Remember when Trumpicantards complained repeatedly that Obama cost the taxpayer this and that, especially when he went golfing or just any little thing. All because they couldn't stand a foreign sounding name person to be president.

2017 alone with Trump 'getting back to work' spent his first year 'will be too busy to leave the white house or play golf' leisure playing golf and footing the taxpayers the bill of course so he can lounge around and play golf.

Trumpicantards of course rejoice because hypocrisy doesn't apply to them.

It is funny how you can now hear pins dropping from the same bunch that bitched and moaned about the Obama's going on vacation or Obama going golfing.

Well, at least Trump has yet to express his condolences to an American Family who just had a members head cut off while he was dressed in his golfing clothes.

But then, it was tee time and he had to hurry.

Well at least Obama never berated a gold star mother.

BTW, the DOW will hit 25,000 this week. Possibly today or tomorrow.

What did the DOW start at when the Twitterman took office?
What did it start at when Obama took office?

Or what does the DOW have to do with anything in regards to the fact that tax payers have exceedingly paid for the bloated orange buffoon's golf trips where he declared he wouldn't have time to play, wouldn't play, or wouldn't leave the white house, or has been critical of Obama's playing golf "all the time."

Of course retard rod turns a blind eye to it.

Trump golfed two days in a row after tweeting "it's back to work in order to Make America Great Again."

On the second day, a box truck was parked between cameras and the president in order to block the view of Trump golfing.

So he is not only lying about going back to work, but when caught he is also trying to hide that he lied.

I was an avid golfer who consistently shot in the low 80's and occasionally dipped into the high 70's. It has never bothered me that Presidents play golf. At nearly 70 I still play the game even though less than I once had. It is a game of discipline that takes a high degree ability to focus.

According to Golf Digest Trump is the best at the game than all other Presidents who played while in office. I don't suspect that golf digest would mislead in stating that as fact.

Trump owns 17 great courses around the world so it's no surprise to me that he's an above average Presidential player. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays more golf while in office than any previous President. Golf is the most challenging game I've ever played.

If Trump manages a 2nd term in office he could exceed the 1200 rounds that Woodrow Wilson played during his Presidency leading the country through WW I.

Some informational videos at the bottom of the page on Presidential golf.

I really don't care about the Twittermans game or how difficult the game is. If you remember Eisenhower played a lot of golf, not sure about Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, never got mentioned much. Ford played some and Carter liked to jog. Reagan I think played a few rounds but not that much. The Bushes were more into fishing and boating. Clinton played the ladies and the sax. Obama was the first one that we heard all sorts of bitching and moaning about him playing golf.

You should find it a tad ironic and hypocritical of The Twitterman condemning Obama for playing golf yet he seems to be on the course a lot more than Obama ever played.

Of course they should find it hypocritical. But they will not.

I do find it hypocritical and simply consider it politics.

Bush quit playing after being criticized for playing while President according to the link.

Golf is just another subject for the opposition to bitch about a Presidency, which I believe to be petty nitpicking.

I tend to get excited about important things than a President playing golf. There is no benefit in getting excited about something I can't change.

I always played golf as a business contact or deal(:)) adventure. Something I believe that most if not all Presidents do that play golf while in office.

I don't have an excitable personality. If you had read the link you would know about golfing Presidents. :)

"I do find it hypocritical and simply consider it politics."

It's politics for a presidential candidate to claim that they'll never play golf while serving, and then setting a pace to play the most golf as a president ever? While politicians lie, lying isn't political.

Trump playing golf, by itself in a vacuum, isn't that big of a deal. Trump even playing a lot of golf isn't that big of a deal. One could always argue about what line to draw in the same between reasonable and too much, so having that argument likely does come down to politics.

But this is not in a vacuum. Trump was in record setting his own line: 0. He blew past that, by a wide margin. He is clearly a liar. Beyond that, Trump plays golf at his own courses, wherein he's actually earning money by having that round. Even if we accept the lie that Trump wasn't going to play golf, that he's doing it in a fashion to abuse the taxpayers for his own gain is pretty offensive. And, again, not politics.

Any nonpartisan way you look at Trump's presidential golfing, it's bad. He both lied to the public as a candidate and is now acting highly inappropriately by going to his own resorts, courses to play. As a public official, enriching yourself at the expense of the taxpayer is called corruption, no matter what team you play for.

and always at his own courses, raking in the dough from all the staff & secret service using his properties... he was at his places ~100 days in his first year

plus treating his fans like the gullible rubes they are by hiding the golfing as much as possible

I find politics in general offensive.

If it is considered corruption in the political realm one would expect government representatives chosen by the citizens taking legal action to stop it from continuing. I'd ask you why that isn't the case if I didn't know we both understand why it hasn't happened to date.

It appears that what we may consider corruption in government isn't equal to what government believes to be corruption. Explain it away for me since i'm a better listener than argumentative.

A very good indication of why I consider myself a political atheist.

"It appears that what we may consider corruption in government isn't equal to what government believes to be corruption."

So you accept the justification from a criminal that what they did was reasonable and within the bounds of law?

You may consider yourself a political atheist, but it's pretty apparent just how apologetic you are for Trump. Having a pretty representative team doesn't make you teamless.

"So you accept the justification from a criminal that what they did was reasonable and within the bounds of law?"

I said what we may consider corruption doesn't seem to be the view of government. No more and no less. Not what you or I specifically believe. What I do believe and have experienced in adult life can be summed up quite simply. From my perspective politics is synonymous with corruption.

If you choose to say that I'm apologetic and bias toward Trump when it comes to playing golf you are mistaken. I have no resistance to any President playing golf as a pastime enjoyment.

No other President has owned golf courses and clearly that places additional scrutiny into the mix, but if they had my approach would be equal.

I find politics far more irrational than rational function.

"I said what we may consider corruption doesn't seem to be the view of government. No more and no less. Not what you or I specifically believe. What I do believe and have experienced in adult life can be summed up quite simply. From my perspective politics is synonymous with corruption."

So because you believe that every politician is corrupt, you don't seem bothered by the corruption of this one?

Or, more bluntly - you are talking in veiled circles and in effect not saying anything at all. With the higher overtone of your support of trump, it is entirely rational to interpret this as apologizing for Trump. You deny this, yet your posts repeatedly downplay his antics. There is nothing rational about your stance.

"No other President has owned golf courses and clearly that places additional scrutiny into the mix, but if they had my approach would be equal."

What approach? The "it's ok to play golf" approach? No rational person cares that Trump is playing golf. They care that he claimed he wouldn't, they care that he's enriching himself through power of office while doing it. Either respond to these claims directly or just don't bother replying, cause subsequent posts that don't actually say anything are a waste of everyone's time.

I've pretty much said it all, but you can digest as you choose as well as believe.

I said it was hypocritical as plainly as I could. I've also said that him owning golf courses demands additional scrutiny. It is beyond my ability to convict him for corruption, although, it isn't beyond the ability of government and he has not been.

For the bummer: I didn't say all politicians are corrupt. I said politics in my view is synonymous with corruption. If you don't agree then it is easy to agree to disagree for me.

If you are wanting me to publicly accuse a President or any particular politician for corruption don't hold your breath. Public opinion right or left doesn't rule my own decisions, nor does pressure from opposition.

You shouldn't waste your time.

"I said it was hypocritical as plainly as I could."

And in the very next sentence, you apologized for it, calling it "[simply] politics." As in, "it's hypocritical sure, but it's fine. It's just politics."

"If you are wanting me to publicly accuse a President or any particular politician for corruption"

Actually, my point was that people who support Trump won't do exactly that. You have (finally) plainly stated what I originally surmised.

" As in, "it's hypocritical sure, but it's fine. It's just politics."

Politics is riddled with hypocrisy. If you took my statement as approval you are again mistaken. At no time did I say or suggest I approve.

At no time have I said or even suggested it was just fine nor will I ever.

Didn't the golf meme start with WBush? How many of the leftists who criticized WBush for golf after viewing Fahrenheit 9/11 held Obongo to the same standard?

he's not being criticized for the act of golfing

he's being criticized for complaining about golfing, claiming he'd never do it, then instead doing it more than anyone... plus trying to hide it... plus constantly going to his properties
