With two days left Chief of staff Kelley leaves the Hill empty handed with talks still stalled.

Republicans have clear majorities in both Houses and White House and they still can't govern.

I enjoy how manipulative the media is. When government shut down under obama it was congresses fault. When the government shuts down under trump, it is the executives fault. At this point, let's get some axes and start butchering cucks and fags.

how is this even possible, with the same party in control of House, Senate and WH??? Financing the govt is not subject to filibuster in the senate, right? Just have republicans vote yes, wtf

They need a bigger vote count than what the Republicans have alone. The need some democrats to pass the bill.

where? in the House?

Of course, the democrats are refusing to vote on a bill that concerns immigration because it has some solutions to immigration in it.

just vote on the govt financing, if you don't want shutdown. Nothing else, so simple majority rules. Has it ever happened, in history, that govt shut down with the same party in full control? It would be tremendously retarded
Hot Rod

I think the votes that only need a simple majority are the confirmation votes.

Republican Congress is unable to pass a bill and therefore the govt led by Republican president is shutdown. Fuckin A

This is the demorats fault if there is a shutdown.

Look no farther than that.

The shutdowns under Obama was because he kept vetoing bills that repealed his signature piece of legislation.

ok, I think I know now, after being forced to google, again. You can only use reconciliation (51 vote in the senate) once during the fiscal year, and republicans used it to ram the tax cuts through. I got it from Glenn beck site, so no guarantees this is correct

http://www...occurs-you-can-thank-the-media

"Despite holding neither house of Congress, Democrats can force a shutdown on purely partisan lines because Republicans have already used reconciliation in order to pass the tax reform bill, and under Senate rules, reconciliation can be used only once per fiscal year. "

GOP should finally eliminate filibuster for good
Aeros

they should if they want to pass anything before the democrats take control of congress.

indeed. Plus, they would still have Donald veto, even if they lose Congress

although who knows, Trump is fickle and definitely not a conservative (or liberal)

He is a good deal more conservative than liberal.

What he want's is to shut down the border to illegal aliens while the demorats want to increase the flow.

They should eliminate the filibuster and then when Dems retake everything, GOP will stand helplessly by and Dems will be able to quickly fix everything in 2021 instead of having GOP obstruct like they did Obama and then blame Obama for the results of their obstructionism.

The millenial generation ain't putting up with their shit. Only anti-social losers like Obaminated and Rugian from our Cohort believe in the nihilism of Republicans.

Which will you reverse first?

The Military or the tax cuts?

Don't be silly. Both can be reversed at the same time on the same bill.

I have to ask. If given the choice between giving the army another tank, or giving 10 homeless families a place to live.

You chose?

lol @ "In an early-morning Twitter post, Mr. Trump took the unusual step of publicly pushing back against his own White House"

well-oiled machine

-------------
"WASHINGTON — President Trump directly contradicted his own chief of staff on Thursday and said his position on building a wall between the United States and Mexico had not “evolved.”

Mr. Trump’s chief of staff, John F. Kelly, told some Democratic lawmakers on Wednesday that Mr. Trump had “evolved” on the issue of the wall, and that the president was not “fully informed” when he promised to build such a barrier last year.

In an early-morning Twitter post, Mr. Trump took the unusual step of publicly pushing back against his own White House, signaling a disconnect between the president and his staff at a critical time of negotiations with Congress to avoid a government shutdown."

Trump also decided to toss out a tweet about CHIP to undercut Republicans... just like he did w/ FISA

perhaps his 4-D strategy is to put pressure on them to work faster before he says something even more stupid

“They’re in charge,” Schumer said Friday as he entered his Capitol office. “They’re not talking to us. They’re totally paralyzed and inept. There’s no one to negotiate with.”

http://apn...e-each-other-as-shutdown-looms

Maybe Trump is more interested in playing golf or watching tv-shows than negotiating and saving the country. Or maybe the republicans lack competence. They don’t know what to do. Maybe they are waiting for Trump to tweet something.

”White House said Friday that Trump would not leave for a planned weekend trip to Florida. The president had been set to leave Friday afternoon to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his inauguration at his Palm Beach estate.”

Lol, Trump is losing a good day of golfing and celebrations.

The demorats have attached DACA too the spending Bill even though Trump made a deal with Chuck and Nancy to hold off on it until March.

Chuck and Nancy are pulling a fast one as usual.

Republicans and dems had a deal but trump pulled the rug out from underneath both dems and republicans with his moronic tweeting.

Retard's going to retard.

First government shutdown in history where one party has the majority and the presidency. Trump is a man of many firsts.

It's official: democRats try to destroy the USA!

"Much of the federal government officially shut down early Saturday morning after Senate democRats, blocked consideration of a stopgap spending measure to keep the government operating."

Well we can't expect a speedy solution from the Republicans. At least one that will fly.

They have been trying to put the Clintons behind bars for 25 years and counting, well at least that is what they say.

They have been trying to repeal the ACA for 8 years and still really have nothing worthwhile to replace.

They have had how many years to come up with an immigration policy that will fly? ZZZZzzzzzz

Wake me when they come up with a workable solution to anything.
