They really did fuck up the whole Dorne thing in the show. Dorne in the books is pretty cool.

Dorne in the books is not a cool thing. I assume the show cut them down a lot because they are ultimately irrelevant. Hood, take note, world building is fun. But don't world build while sacrificing a concise story lest you run become GRRM. A dude who will never finish his life's work because he refused to focus.
