In this video, we take a look at a recent story which went international, relating to a study by a University College London team of archaeologists, the excitement centred around the forensic reconstruction of the ancient remains of Cheddar Man, whose skeletal remains, thought to be around 10,000 years old were found in Goughs Cave in Summerset, the British press and international media, were bursting at the seams in their excitement to inform the world that new DNA testing had revealed evidence suggesting that the earliest people of the British Isles likely had dark skin.

Nobody wants to see a 15 minute video from an amateur.

Is 10,000 years of evolution enough time to change skin color.

You are phrasing the question wrong.

Is 400 generations enough for a pigment mutation to gain dominance in a population?

25 is probably a bit low. Median age of mother when giving birth to offspring that survive to give birth. 16-44 non-linear spread.

To answer the question. Yes 400 generations is more than ample for a pigment mutation to gain dominance within a population.

Think dog breeding if you are having difficulties grasping this intuitively.

20 years per generation in primitive cultures which I assume is the case here.

Cool thanks, jergul. I figured that was probably correct but wanted to make sure.

I read Jane Auel's series, Clan of The Cave Bear.It was set at 30,000 years ago and only wolves existed at that time.

A thoroughly fun read. Six novels to the set.

I liked the first one. Beastiality from book II on was not my cup of tea.

My favorite part of the six novels was when the girl was at a gathering of Neanderthals. a saber-toothed tiger showed up and was circling a young girl that favored Ayla, the human girl.

Ayla realizes that the tiger is the one she realized it is the same tiger she raised from a cub.

When the tiger realizes that he is now seeing the real Ayla he goes to her and she jumps on his back and starts riding him.

Needless to say, the Neanderthals were shocked. :)

Beastiality - ?

Do you mean where the Neanderthals leader's son forced himself on Ayla?
