It was probably bad luck that they ran into a horde of enemies. Or maybe the enemy knew about the special forces presence, because someone leaked intelligence, so the enemy set up an ambush.

They insurgents apparently passed on the looted gear and only in last week or so did some ISIS media guy put it all together into the scenes in the video. I don't usually get psychologically messed up from war footage, but something about the helmet cam putting one into their situation makes it really awful to watch from an empathy standpoint. Probably the strongest reminder of the brutality of modern infantry combat I've watched personally.

It is sad, especially the end when our pov is shot point blank and we see his blood, but it isnt indicative of anything more than an unfortunate outcome to a questionable mission.
