Civ 5 is only 1 military unit per tile (no more stacks), there's a hex map, cities have a built-in defense, cities expand 1 tile at a time rather than a radius increase, units have health levels so don't tend to die from a single lost battle (not sure which Civ that changed in actually), some economy changes that i don't recall

i never played EU IV

So I made a quick google and Civ 4 seems to be the most popular Civ. Civ 5 seems to be popular too. People doesn’t seem to like Civ 6 too much yet.

Civ 4 was a great civ in its day, but I do like the end of the huge unit-stacks since Civ 5.

Civ 6 is better than Civ 5 imo.

EU4 is fantastic and clearly the best choice here

Use the workshop. Makes your civ games whole new experiences.

Doing away with huge stacks by game rule is pretty stupid, as "huge stacks" was the rule in military history until ww1, and still exists at sea. Let the user decide whether or not to use huge stacks on their own, based on their interpretation of collateral damage.

Civ 4 rocks.

EU IV Empire Founder Pack cost €85,46 on Steam. That’s a lot of money for a game. Maybe if they drop the price by -50% then I’ll get it.

EU IV, like all Paradox games, takes like 20 hours to really learn in the beginning.

I like Empire Total War with Darth Mod because it focuses mostly on the battles and less on the other minutae.
