eh, i don't care enough about this sort of thing to get upset over unless it is especially egregious/hits on a political issue i care about.

this thing is something trump avoids because he knows they are only going to insult him and if he gets upset they'll use that footage against him, which is what they want. it is a very left leaning event with a specific purpose.

and also, the whole thing should be abolished in general. there is no purpose in it beyond the media feeling relevant. which is why no one gives a shit when the president doesn't show up.

Nah President Trump didn't attend because last year many of the "journalists" said they were not going to attend so he figured fuck it I'm not going either. This year he decided why break a good thing. He didn't want to be there and most everybody in the press didn't want to be there either other than to have a chance to grab a few free drinks, nor could they give a shit if he were there or not.

It isn't a celebration of the first amendment and probably never was. Now it is just a party that allows White House correspondents to hang out with a few celebrities for a couple of hours. Might as well just be a dinner and a roast. It is just a chance to get drunk and see if you can score an intern for press and politicians alike.

I heard on Fox & Friends this morning.

The bitch in question unloaded a bunch of unfunny "jks" at Sarah Sanders about her size and weight and a bunch of other mean-spirited remarks.

Sarah was there to represent THE PRESIDENT and she is a colleague of many of those in the audience. She deserved to be treated as an equal, though in my opinion, she is much more than their equal.

The way she was treated is scandalous and uncalled for. She deserves at the very least a profound and serious apology.

The best comedy is usually pretty edgy, but then there is just anger masquerading as comedy. When your audience is laughing along nervously, that's a good indication you have gone a bit too far.
