kargen Member	Wed May 16 22:11:28 Only six states actually celebrate Lincoln's birthday as a holiday and California isn't one of them. That doesn't mean anything here though. The bill deals with school holidays and provides for days schools can be closed to observe those days. They also have a Cesar Chavez Day and a Native American Day. The schools get two holidays and can choose if it will be Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday or if it will be President's Day and International Workers Day. So one school could get two Mondays off in February and another could get one day in February and one in May.
