Despite the fact that it was concluded that Comey's investigation was out of the norm and showed no bias.

The focus for Trumpicantard's will be the 7 worded text between 1 former FBI agent and 1 current that specified that they do not want Trump as president inferring to prevent it from happening.

Don't let that propaganda catch you off guard. But Trumpicantards will.

Mr. Tumbleweed,

Thank you for your patronage. Indeed true. In fact the claim before was that it hurt Clinton's chances. So how is this such a conspiracy to stop Trump.

We know what Trumpicantards will say.

truth:
"The cherry picking of this report is likely to only compound the credibility damage for the FBI and DOJ, even as the report itself, taken in full, is a good faith attempt to restore credibility. But political agendas are going to prevent some from providing FULL context. #sad"

Sarah Sanders at the daily briefing basically deferred to Wray's press conference so i wonder if they were hoping he was going to be more Trumpian

presumably little boy Trump is working on a barrage of Strzok-related tweets full of bullshit

Basically the report in part says Peter Strzok wanted to stop Trump but was to incompetent of stupid to do it.

That part doesn't matter though.

The part we should pay attention to is:

The findings sharply criticize the judgment of Mr. Comey, who injected the F.B.I. into presidential politics in ways not seen since at least the Watergate era.

"Mr. Comey held a news conference in July 2016 to announce that he was recommending no charges against Mrs. Clinton and to publicly chastise her email practices. It was highly unorthodox; the Justice Department, not the F.B.I., makes charging decisions. And officials have been reprimanded for injecting their opinions into legal conclusions. Mr. Comey withheld his plans for a public statement from his bosses at the Justice Department.

“It was extraordinary and insubordinate for Comey to do so,” the inspector general wrote, “and we found none of his reasons to be a persuasive basis for deviating from well-established department policies in a way intentionally designed to avoid supervision by department leadership.”"

The funny part is the later announcement about the Hillary E-mail investigation that Hillary says cost her the election. They did that because they thought she was going to win and they didn't want to appear biased in her favor for not following up. So trying to cover their own asses they (in Hillaries eyes) cost Hillary the election.

Comey was justified imo... Trump was out at every rally saying the investigation rigged and citing the Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting

the proper procedure was Comey giving his findings to Lynch & Lynch simply saying 'matter closed, no charges'

would Trump have said, "oh ok, i guess nothing there"... no... he would shout rigged louder & his HR fans would say proof Trump was right & faith in the dept would have been badly harmed (happened to get harmed anyway by the wrecking ball idiot, but it was Comey's rationale)

It should be noted that the OIG said that Comey should not have sent congress a letter about reopening the Clinton investigation a few days before the election.

for what it's worth, Comey's defense was if Hillary had won & then it turned out the Weiner laptop emails did implicate her (they contained early time period emails that were new & early emails would be the most likely to show if she had bad intentions) then it would've looked like the FBI had covered it up

his decisions on both seem reasonable to me

Enough of the in-depth analysis, is this report enough to jail the FBI leadership as well as Lynch, Clinton and Obama?

the only actual pro-Trump finding is there's a new Strzok text:

Page: “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”
Strzok “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.”

(sounds like a joke to me, probably after Trump did one of his wholly inappropriate or stupid things on the campaign)

plus the White House pretending this reaffirms Trump's views on Comey & the decision to fire him... as if anyone possibly believes Trump was upset about Comey mistreating Hillary

"Enough of the in-depth analysis, is this report enough to jail the FBI leadership as well as Lynch, Clinton and Obama?"

No. It just shows the FBI being mildly inept in keeping work/private separate.

"Comey's defense"

I'm aware of Comey's defense. I'm not crucifying him or anything. I'm just pointing out that both of Comey's admittedly not-regulation decisions were deemed wrong. They didn't pick and choose. His comments about the Clinton investigation were deemed inappropriate as was his letter to congress. But what would you expect, considering Comey admitted that both instances were clearly against regulation?

Common convention tells us when someone has to go out of their way to try and show they are all on the up and up they know they fucked up and are covering their own ass.

He fucked up. Then in a panic he fucked up again.

His choices were not reasonable. He was in a leadership position because it was believed he could handle tough decisions. When it came time to make those tough decisions he thought of himself and not the organization he was entrusted to lead. He made bad choices end of story. His choice was follow proper procedures and protocols or don't follow them. He chose bad.

Perhaps you thought that was the most important point.

What struck me as much more important is the fact that there is not a single thing said in Trump's favor nor a single derogatory thing said about Clinton.

That should scare the hell out of every American.

The FBI brass must have needed hazmat suits to scrub DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on agency misconduct around the 2016 elections. The result of their mighty exertions is something like 500 pages of pasteurized tofu. I will be surprised if a new scandal does not erupt over exactly how the scrubbing went down, and I wouldn’t count out the possibility of the original unscrubbed report emerging from deep inside the FBI itself. You have to wonder how embarrassed Mr. Horowitz is, and whether he, or others seeking to defend his integrity, might do anything about it.

In any case, the report managed to whitewash or evade altogether the most troubling angles of the FBI’s role around this garbage barge of institutional roguery. Among unanswered questions: just what were Bill Clinton and then Attorney General Loretta Lynch up to in their mysterious airport tête-à-tête July 2016, a few days before then FBI Director James Comey let Mr. Clinton’s wife, a presidential candidate, off the hook on the email server issue? How did Deputy FBI Director Andy McCabe consort with Clinton campaign bag-man and then Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in a way that dropped nearly $700,000 into Mrs. McCabe’s own campaign war chest for a state legislative race? How did the wife of FBI higher-up Bruce Ohr get on the payroll of the Fusion GPS company that brokered the nefarious Christopher Steele “dossier?” How did the FBI conceal the Clinton campaign’s payments for the Steele dossier from judges who ruled on FISA warrants against Trump campaign associates?

Instead, the OIG report focused on the now-shopworn “love-bird” emails between FBI counter-espionage chief Peter Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, finding only a vague “biased state of mind,” but nothing tied to any particular actions taken by them, despite overt declarations of intent by Strzok to “stop” Trump, presumably by using the powers of the FBI. Former FBI Director Comey got off with the equivalent of a wrist-slap on vague allegations of “insubordination” — to whom? What did insubordination have to do with Comey granting immunity to many Clinton campaign factotums before Mrs. Clinton was interviewed by the agency (not under oath, by the way, for reasons never advanced nor discussed in mainstream media).

If this is the end of all these matters then the FBI will remain permanently tarnished and the public interest will have been very poorly served by a tractable Inspector General who is sure to be a national joke in the months ahead — the pooch screwed by his own pack. The USA really can’t take a whole lot more institutional failure without irreparable political damage. Americans will become only more distrustful of our reckless leviathan state, and more inclined to disrespect it.

Meanwhile, the Mueller probe slogs on — a likely set-up from the get-go by the same cast of characters and their political allies, who set it in motion as a vengeful ruse against their own nefarious election meddling. They may easily find misdeeds in Donald Trump’s lifetime of sketchy real estate finaglings and associations, especially with mob interests that rule the New York City construction scene, and they have means to shift all that to the US attorney there, but after two years, the Russia collusion story itself looks like a figment.

Also meanwhile, more dangerous forces are loose on the international finance scene now, with the European Union twisting slowly slowly in the wind over a gale of unraveling bad debt. The situation will infect the global system, including this country, and the nation’s attention will shift to the cascading repercussions soon enough.

Because they are as dishonest as he is. Maybe even more so. He wasn't kidding when he said that he could kill a guy and it wouldn't hurt him. Trump saw how they responded to his outrageous rhetoric, and how the more outrageous he got, the louder they cheered.

‘Viva Le Resistance’: FBI Anti-Trump Messages Give President More ‘Deep State’ Fodder

FBI employees discussed their views of Trump in what they thought were private messages. Some later joined the Mueller investigation.

..

Five FBI employees involved in the Clinton email investigation sent either text messages or instant messages that were hostile toward Trump, according to the report..

Most of the text messages between two of the FBI employees ― former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and FBI deputy assistant director Peter Strzok ― were previously made public. One newly revealed message showed Strzok saying they’d “stop” Trump’s election, which the IG said “implies a willingness to take official action to impact the presidential candidate’s electoral prospects.”

Other instant messages showed FBI employees referring to Trump as “Drumpf,” calling Trump supporters “retarded” and “lazy POS,” writing “screw you trump” and “fuck trump,” joking about Trump’s election signaling the fall of the Republic, and writing “Viva le resistance.”

The IG found the five FBI employees’ texts and messages “cast a cloud” over the Clinton investigation, caused damage to “the FBI’s reputation for neutral factfinding and political independence,” and that the employees “demonstrated extremely poor judgment and a gross lack of professionalism.”

Strzok and Page were having an affair when the text messages were sent. Two of the other FBI employees ― identified as Agent 1 and Agent 5 ― were in a relationship at the time the messages were sent and are now married. Agent 1 was one of two FBI agents who interviewed Clinton in July 2016, and was one of four agents responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Clinton investigation. Agent 5 was a part of the “filter team” and was supposed to filter out privileged communications from the material obtained by the FBI.

The couple referred to Trump as “Drumpf” ― a reference to Trump’s ancestral name that became popular with Trump opponents following a February 2016 John Oliver segment ― and wrote that Trump supporters were sad, pathetic, and dumb..

Messages sent by FBI Attorney 2 might give Trump supporters even more ammunition, as the attorney worked on Mueller’s special counsel team up until late February 2018, after the IG told the special counsel team about some of the uncovered messages. FBI Attorney 2 was also assigned to the Clinton case and was the primary FBI attorney on the Russian interference investigation before Mueller’s appointment.

FBI Attorney 2 described himself as “a bit of a news junkie,” but said he never interjected his politics into his professional work. The attorney chatted with a number of other FBI employees about their views on Trump. After Comey sent a letter to Congress days before the 2016 election that essentially announced the reopening of the Clinton investigation, Attorney 2 sent messages to several colleagues joking that they “never really liked the Republic anyway.”..

After the election, the future member of Mueller’s special counsel team wrote that they were “devastated” by Trump’s election and couldn’t wait to “shut off the world” when they left work. FBI Attorney 2 worried about the “systematic disassembly of the progress we made over the last eight years,” expressing worry about future of Obamacare, Trump’s immigration policies, and gun issues..

Another FBI employee who was not involved in the Clinton investigation wrote to FBI Attorney 2 that Trump supporters were “uneducated, lazy POS” ― or pieces of shit ― who thought Trump would “magically grant them jobs for doing nothing.”

imagine trying to staff the FBI with people who only have neutral opinions of Trump... good luck

plus people having a negative view of Trump is the correct view... if somehow you like Trump it's probably because of accomplishments he claims as his own which he had essentially nothing to do with... i can't imagine too many like Trump's actual person
