Certainly, the US is not good at spending per capita for that group of people. However, our private systems are only about 10% higher than the UK (bottom page, $4500 per capita): http://www...a/Downloads/res-Highlights.pdf And this is including our ridiculous cost of drugs, mind you, which would close that gap to about 5% above UK.
