Lol@seb. 8 babies. I guess its so much better that they died without gun use. You totally have the moral high ground to use at those babies funerals.

Sam:

What, exactly, is your point?

I don't think anyone ever claimed controlling guns would eliminate crimes that are not committed with and do not involve guns.

Or are you suggesting that this individual, not having access to a gun, embarked on a multi year plan to get medical qualifications and access to neonatal care to kill people instead? And thus suggesting that it demonstrates how controling guns does not prevent murder?

Because if you are I'd suggest that almost comically highlights how much harder it is for people to commit mass murders with gun control, highlighting it's efficacy, and perhaps explaining why our murder rates are so much lower than yours.

Harder?

Perhaps.

But obviously, it can be done.

TFW not having the death penalty is a violation of the public's trust.

Again, not sure what your point is. Laws against murder don't make murder impossible either.

She's been arrested. Not clear if she will be charged (i.e. what level of evidence there is against her).

"TFW not having the death penalty is a violation of the public's trust."

It depends, should justice should be primarily about retribution or restitution (restorative)? There is a balance to be found between those principles, no doubt. However such a balance can not be achieved with capital punishment since dead people can not restore anything. You may argue that it does for you personally, and of course the judiciary should take into account that the punishment is part of the restorative act, but it shouldn't be the only concern.

The only concern should be keeping society safe from monsters.
