Even more livid that the current administration is supported by political factions in the USA that have openly stated they want to ruin any effort to turn the EU into a federal union. It's actually interesting to watch. I don't think Brussels ever factored America into their EU integration plans. They seem shocked that Ethnic English, Poles, Italians, Swedes, Germans, Scots, Irish, etc in the USA have reacted with incandescent fury over the migrant crisis and the EU scheme to erase their homelands. This had bled into actual U.S. foreign policy.

The EU requires adherence to all writs and warrants issued, to the point where the dust h can order the arrest of British citizens and hold them indefinitely without charge or trial (something they are doing right now). This violates Habeus Corpus, but that is okay as the EU does not recognise the principle. The insitution has far exceeded its intended mandate of economic integration and preventing the French and Germans from fighting. It has become an authoritarian abomination that is limited only by its super national structure. The cynic in me believes the desire of Brussels to import hordes of migrants is so they can undermine the nation states and plow ahead with their own stated goal of forming a federal union headed by an unelected council of commissioners who rule on behalf of a people too stupid to make their own decisions.

Usually the US does not want Russia to influence and dominate Europe because it would weaken the US. It is the US who should pay more.
