long ass article about White House counsel McGahn cooperating w/ Mueller (if you hit paywall you can try loading in a different browser you don't use much)

http://www...ahn-mueller-investigation.html

basically he sounds like another Comey... a professional who was troubled by Trump's actions... apparently he's been cooperating with Mueller, worried about getting sucked into Trump's crimes

so presumably no chance compulsive liar Trump will ever go before Mueller (unless compelled)

some snippets:
"
Worried that Mr. Trump would ultimately blame him in the inquiry, Mr. McGahn told people he was determined to avoid the fate of the White House counsel for President Richard M. Nixon, John W. Dean, who was imprisoned in the Watergate scandal.

Mr. McGahn decided to fully cooperate with Mr. Mueller. It was, he believed, the only choice he had to protect himself.

...

To investigators, Mr. McGahn was a fruitful witness, people familiar with the investigation said. He had been directly involved in nearly every episode they are scrutinizing to determine whether the president obstructed justice. To make an obstruction case, prosecutors who lack a piece of slam-dunk evidence generally point to a range of actions that prove that the suspect tried to interfere with the inquiry.

Mr. McGahn gave to Mr. Mueller’s investigators, the people said, a sense of the president’s mind-set in the days leading to the firing of Mr. Comey; how the White House handled the firing of the former national security adviser, Michael T. Flynn; and how Mr. Trump repeatedly berated Mr. Sessions, tried to get him to assert control over the investigation and threatened to fire him.
"

also lots of info on McGahn not being stopped from talking when he could've been... & Trump assuming McGahn is there to protect Trump instead of the office (as he thinks about everyone really)

We're less than three months away from the elections and Mueller is clearly angling to sabotage them. Fire this fool immediately.

That point would be far truer if said about trump.

Rugian, you didn't seem to mind when it was less than 3 weeks before the presidential election and the election was sabotaged by congress. Mind explaining the hypocrisy?

"Now I'm thinking the continuance of the investigation would actually help because people are getting tired of it, and the President needs something to energize his voters because the Democrats look like they're energized. Nothing would energize Republicans more than, 'Let's save the President.' "

Poor Giuliani. He could have gone down in history as America's mayor but he decided to go full on crazy. Suggests maybe he was crazy all along and hid it better before.

"Mr. McGahn’s cooperation began in part as a result of a decision by Mr. Trump’s first team of criminal lawyers to collaborate fully with Mr. Mueller. The president’s lawyers have explained that they believed their client had nothing to hide and that they could bring the investigation to an end quickly."

then much of the rest of the article explains how trump was incredibly collaborative with mueller [giving million documents.. letting mcgahn speak freely about everything without limiting him by invoking attorney client privilege].. which mcgahn didn't like because it's a bad precedent for executive branch to just let special counsel dig around everything for any kind of dirt.. and that trump would have said some politically damaging stuff while sausage was being made even if doing nothing wrong [as he didn't].. "Mr. McGahn cautioned to investigators that he never saw Mr. Trump go beyond his legal authorities, though the limits of executive power are murky."

trump has been so helpful and collaborative and undefensive and non-obstructionist with mueller that mcgahn got paranoid and suspected some nixon-dean trick from trump.. but article ends making clear mcgahn was just being paranoid.. "As the months passed on, it became apparent that Mr. McGahn and Mr. Burck had overestimated the amount of thought that they believed the president put into his legal strategy. Rather than placing the blame on Mr. McGahn for possible acts of obstruction [etc]"

it's now more clear than ever that trump did nothing wrong.. and if the fake news wasn't fake news they would now be working to clear trump's name with the same energy with which they had besmirched it [with two years of obsessive malevolent baseless speculations]

The White House has given Mueller everything they have asked for except a 'gotcha' sit down with The President.

how about we let the investigation finish as you'd be saying for anyone except Trump

Why are you in favor of wasting taxpayer money?

It would be better spent investigating the Democrats. That's where the criminal activity really took place.

"The failing @nytimes wrote a Fake piece today implying that because White House Councel Don McGahn was giving hours of testimony to the Special Councel, he must be a John Dean type “RAT.” But I allowed him and all others to testify - I didn’t have to. I have nothing to hide."

http://twi...ump/status/1031134125602820096

so John Dean is a "RAT"... Trump siding w/ criminals openly (& in mob-speak)

plus McGahn himself brings up John Dean & article notes Trump let him testify so nothing fake about the article...

"It would be better spent investigating the Democrats. That's where the criminal activity really took place."

yes, that's what Trump keeps tweeting over and over

please tell me any evidence or indication of these crimes on the Democrat side... and also explain why Sessions (R) & Wray (R), both appointed by Trump, aren't already investigating them (if they exist)

John Dean's response:
"
@realDonaldTrump (I still have trouble using the title Mr. President for someone installed by Putin), I doubt you have ANY IDEA what McGahn has told Mueller. Also, Nixon knew I was meeting with prosecutors, b/c I told him. However, he didn’t think I would tell them the truth!
"

ha! so exact parallel to McGahn

Don 'the Don' Trump is expecting everyone to cover for him or they are dirty rats!

He is just not afraid of them telling the truth because he has broken no laws.

then why has he been trying to shut it down since it began? (or before even Mueller began really... as that was why he fired Comey)

most likely Trump allowed it as he didn't know he couldn't or because, like Nixon, he thought McGahn would lie for him

also, do you approve of the President of the United States suggesting people who cooperate with the feds are 'rats'?

"Don McGahn... destroyer of Trump...maybe"

You're setting yourself up for disappointment. The GOP House will NEVER impeach Trump, so he's not going anywhere. And his supporters don't care what he does as long as he's sticking it to brown people, so he will likely get re-elected.

The only way Trump is leaving early is if illness or a patriot get him.

Because he knew the crooks were the Democrats not him. How many millions has Mueller wasted?

I'm ok with him staying in office as long as he's completely neutered.

The dumbass GOP can defend him if Mueller finds serious charges and the dems impeach after 2018. Even if Trump survives, the damage will be done. A vote for the GOP is a vote for treason. Presidents in general only lose support over time and the moron never even came close to the popular vote anyways.

How many Millions has Mueller spent to catch a tax dodger?

Please tell me, I haven't followed the numbers and I'm sure you have.

tumbleweed

Sun Aug 19 18:14:13
yeah, 35 people charged actually & i believe the budget is $10 million per year upon cursory examination... well worth exposing his nest of criminal associates & hopefully the big dogshit himself

and about that 'tax dodger'... part of the stream of bullshit lies by Judge Jeanine this weekend was Manafort's crime is a 2007 tax case

and Fox News happily tweeted that string of lies

takes about 2 minutes or less to determine his case covers crimes all the way to 2014 & beyond

but liar Trump claims they are going after '12 year old crimes' of the unfairly treated Manafort, so his lying shills on Fox gotta go with that

that network has no shame
Hot Rod

So he has spent nearly $20 Million to catch a tax dodger that the will never collect anything on because he spent all of his money on lawyers. And then the jury just may acquit him.

Then there is another guy that Mueller only be held 3 to 6 months in jail. He is supposed to be one of the big catches.

I don't know, unless they come up with something more then it looks like a huge waste of money.

But time will tell.

Trump is flipping out over McGahn news (apparent on twitter, no 'fake news' needed)

- you already have the reporting that he thought McGahn was his personal lawyer who would protect him & had attorney/client privilege (he does not)

- plus new reporting that Trump's team assumed they could exert executive privilege on things McGahn has already said (they can not)

the final meltdown counter has begun
