The American Bar Association called on the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday evening to halt the confirmation vote for Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, saying it should not move forward until an FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations against him can be completed.

“The basic principles that underscore the Senate’s constitutional duty of advice and consent on federal judicial nominees require nothing less than a careful examination of the accusations and facts by the FBI,” ABA President Robert Carlson wrote in a letter to Chairman Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) and ranking committee Democrat Dianne Feinstein (Calif).

This is what should have been done before any dog and pony show was put on TV.

Doesn't change anything. The FBI will spend a week on the new investigation. They will give a report to President Trump. He will say his mind has not been changed. Democrats will demand more time and Republicans will push for a vote.

i really doubt Trump is the only one who sees the report

he could nominate known criminals, and just not give their background checks to the Senate

No, but only local authorities can charge him and, very likely, Ward will have to file a complaint.

Not likely.

yes back in 1982 when this was suppose to have happened the statute of limitations for the most serious crime he could have been charged with was one year. Even if there was no statute of limitation no crime has been reported.

and yeah I think the Senate committee gets the report also but he is already out of committee and the vote will go to the floor once the investigation is done. The report needs to make President Trump change his mind or we are right back where we were before the investigation with a vote taking place in the Senate.
