You do realize that Obama spent his first two years with Democrats in control of Congress and six years with control 9ver the Senate, right?

Was flipping channels listening. Someone on FOX News commented that with Democrats taking the house things would change. Another person asked what had changed and pointed out President Trump didn't get his wall, couldn't get rid of Obamacare and one other big issue I forget now. He went on to say nothing will change President Trump still will not be able to build a wall and all that other stuff.

Trump claims the record # of Republicans retiring from the House was because they were losing their chairperson positions from term limits (rather than the likely reason of being disgusted by the direction the party going w/ Trump)

i'm going to guess the # losing chairperson positions due to limits is <5... (# of retirees was in the 40s)

Some Democrats have been insisting the would proceed with impeachment of both President Trump and Kavanaugh so it wasn't just FOX News making shit up. Democratic leadership though is trying to walk that backwards because they know it would end bad for them. The Democrats I saw (actually heard them speak the words) said they would go after Kavanaugh believing he has committed perjury. Again probably not going to happen because the leaders of the house know how messy that would get.
The house can bring people up and make them testify but I doubt anything will come of it. They will either take the 5th or just dance around and not tell us anything we do not already know.
If the house does decide an investigation provided enough evidence to proceed it will go to the Senate and die there.

saying they will do investigation properly and then impeaching if Kavanaugh found to have lied is not the same, that what Rs should want as well in that case

I saw with my own eyes Faux News pushing the claim they would impeach Kavanaugh... NO evidence to back it up

Rep. Ted Lieu, D-Calif and Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez, D-Ill have been the most vocal. Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York was even before confirmation said if the house wins then he would start an investigation looking into perjury charges. So far he hasn't backed away from that.

I know it doesn't matter one bit but it is amazing how many online petitions there are calling for Kavanaugh to be impeached. Bunch of grass root idiots thinking clicking on a button is making a difference.

Trump was asked about his 10% tax cut today that was just about to be passed according to him... he said no point in bringing it to congress as they don't have the votes (that's even now, under current congress)
