Regan sent Vice-President Bush, Oliver North and a couple of Secret Service Agents, to protect Bush, on a little helicopter ride.

They landed at The Sandinista headquarters deep in The Nicaraguan jungle during the heat of their rebellion and, I would imagine, every man in the area had a gun.

They met with the leaders of the Sandinistas, not sure who was there but it was surely included either Ortega, Fonseca or both.

As soon as they were seated Bush lit into them.

He told them in no uncertain terms that President Reagan wanted them to stop killing civilians, get the revolution over with and have a democratic election soon thereafter or he (Reagan) was going to cut off aid.

Bush and party got up, walked out and went back to safety.

While the Sandinistas were still thinking about what he said.

The rest is history. You will have to look it up yourselves.
