The Terminator insists US will help battle climate change

In an interview on the sidelines of a UN climate summit in Poland this week, the Terminator actor and three-time Mr. Universe winner said he was on an "environmental crusade" and urged everyone to join in the climate fight.

"I think governments' responsibility is to protect people. That's why we have armies to avoid an attack. Well here is the biggest attack," he told AFP.

"Seven million people die every year because of (air) pollution, 25,000 of them die alone in America. If we don't want to fight that then there is something wrong with us."

In his two terms as California governor between 2003-2011, Schwarzenegger helped shape America's richest state into a green powerhouse.

The 71-year-old said the US was committed to act on climate change regardless of President Trump's controversial decision to take the richest country in the world out of the Paris accord.

"Just because Donald Trump dropped out of the Paris agreement it doesn't mean that America dropped out," he said.

"All of our states that were always environmentally friendly are still going in the same direction. All of our cities in America are going in the same direction, they are still in the Paris agreement.

"People are investing in green technology. It's a booming industry and people should understand that we all have to work together. America is in and our crazy leader is not, so be it."

Arnold Schwarzenegger says Trump is a ”crazy leader” and is basically telling the world to ignore Trump, and that America is not with Trump, and that the world will get a better deal if we bypass him.

Dayum... Trump got reduced by The Terminator. Lol!

ERR...

What exactly is that percentage again?

Why should we finish the bankrupting of America that Obama started? That is exactly what would have happened if Trump had not pulled us out of the Paris Accords.

"Arnold Schwarzenegger says Trump is a ”crazy leader”"

Are you aware that Arnold needed a huge project done when he was Governor?

The project, worth millions could easily have been done in one of the states above him, I forget which, but he gave the contract to China.

Would not surprise me if he had to give up some top secrets to China to convince them to do the project for him.

what top secrets do you think Arnold had access to?

most likely he paid them for cheap labor, just like other people do... including Trumps

and Trump is clearly the one who would sell secrets for business purposes, hopefully people are limiting his access... luckily he doesn't read

You use cheap labor when you are in business.

Not when you have a government contract to let.

That is what happened to all of the jobs in this country.

While Trump was having the time of his life shagging Penthouse models, Arnold was cheating on his meal ticket with one of the ugliest housekeepers in America. Trump > steroids-induced micropenis.

”That is exactly what would have happened if Trump had not pulled us out of the Paris Accords. ”

Well, Arnold is saying that America has not dropped out, and that all the states that has always been ”environmentally friendly are still going in the same direction”.

Looks like America is not following Trump.

The liberal states may well support the Accords, but it will be their citizens' money they spend on it if any, but they won't get anything from Trump.

""Just because Donald Trump dropped out of the Paris agreement it doesn't mean that America dropped out," he said."

Actually that is exactly what that means. Not that being a part of the agreement meant anything. It was just lip service where a bunch of nations said hey we are going to cut emissions. We don't know how but we promise we will oh and when we fail there is no penalty at all but we promise!

so why so important we drop out?

at the end of the G20 (just like G7) we had to have an extra section in the agreement carved out just for the US to declare we don't care about science, whereas every other country was on board

I still think all they wanted to do was drain America of a few trillion more dollars while the rest of the world puffed away.

after the Trump admin slid out their Climate Change report on Black Friday (same day the total nothing Benghazi report was released years ago) Trump claimed 'i read some of it & it's fine' & that he didn't believe it... citing no counter science of course, just 'meh, i don't see it' conclusions

a total embarrassment to the world

The question shouldn't be why we dropped out but why the fuck did we join in the first place.

Are you saying that's not enough deaths to matter? Or what is your question pertaining to here?

i think he's saying the number of deaths in the US is low relative to the rest of the world so we should ramp up pollution until we catch up

I'm saying that of those 25,000 most had other pulmonary problems besides air pollution.

Can you possibly imagine the cost in human lives if the country was totally bankrupt?

We are almost there.

Besides, China is building one coal-burning plant after another with no plans to stop anytime soon.

No sense our stopping until they do.

we should stop funding NASA & all other science fields as they are all corrupt liars apparently

that was Rick Santorum's view anyway: "look, if there was no climate change, we’d have a lot of scientists looking for work. The reality is that a lot of these scientists are driven by the money that they receive."

so scientists can't be trusted... even if it's large #'s saying the same thing, including unpaid ones... & even though arctic ice drop is obvious with governments already jockeying for position in exploiting it...
so what

What is so important about the Paris accords anyway? Making sure that the taxpayers of the developed world cough up 100billion per year to finance climate change related issues, domestically and in developping countries?

This will be good for corporations and consultants, but will most likely put an extra strain on the middle class. It would be nice if rich celebrities and politicians wouldn't just do virtue signalling, but commit their wealth to it, instead of insisting to commit the wealth and income of people who are not interested. Since 95% of the economic gains go to the top 1% and the top1% have roughly the same income as the bottom 90%, those top 1% celebrities should put their money where their mouth is, instead demanding it from uninterested taxpayers.

Plus one of the biggest if not the biggest cause for pollution is that there are too many people, so having less people is good to combat pollution, even better is to implement birth control in Africa, the Middle East and any other country where they have an average birthrate of more than 2 children per woman.
