WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House Chief of Staff John Kelly will leave his job at the end of this year, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday, describing the former Marine Corps general as a loyal aide during his tenure.

“He’s a great guy,” Trump told reporters as he departed the White House for Philadelphia where he will attend the annual football game between the Army and Navy military academies.

3 Chief of Staffs in less than 3 years of being President: Part of the reason why Barack Obama can't manage to pass his agenda.

Trump wanted him to agree to stay for the remaining 2 years but the boy doesn't want his life & reputation ruined

Trump wanted a guarantee that he would stay two years minimum.

The reason he was leaving in the first place was to spend more time with his wife and young children.

That's why he declined.

Hot Rod, everyone with half a brain knows that to work for Trump is to put yourself up for ridicule and to be discarded like used condom.

This guy is young and probably has political aspirations. He doesn't need being shit canned by a President on his resume.

Yeah, that is what everyone that doesn't understand him thinks.

That job is grueling, especially when the President only sleeps three or four hours a night.

Incidentally, other Presidents have gone through more inside two years.

"That job is grueling"

...because the President is a corrupt idiot child who doesn't care about the law nor ever read any briefings

one conflict that has come out: apparently petty Trump wanted to go w/ that mass of security clearance revoking & Kelly fought him

hopefully for the good of the nation Kelly will expose all the dangers this idiot child poses once he's no longer the babysitter

No one wants to be Chief of Staff in Trump’s regime. It is going to be a nightmare for the poor bastard who is going to be forced to take the job. Rip.

he probably doesn't want it either

Trump says he wants someone who agrees with his ideas and will execute them... so you need someone willing to execute unrealistic and/or illegal ideas...

Trump should abolish the Chief of Staff position in favor of a Kingsguard and appoint ~40 incoming Democratics representatives to it

"Yes, I'm supporting Donald Trump, I believe so, as enthusiastically as I can given the fact that I think he’s a terrible human being, but the choice on the other side is just as bad"
~ Mick Mulvaney

it is indeed... now Trump is stuck w/ someone who hates him as he can't find anyone else

Trump wouldn't let Pence's cabana boy have the job on a temp basis, yet Mulvaney now doing just that... & while keeping his old job
