Nobody here supports trump officially now that Hot Rod is dead. But they are so enmeshed in the right-wing media complex that they won't say anything against him and probably enable him by voting for Republicans anyways.

HR was the only one willing to defend trump at all times. He wasn't what the board deserved. But he was what we needed.

Trump reportedly hid records of his conversations with Putin from his own administration

President Donald Trump has taken pains to hide details of his communications with Russian President Vladimir Putin from his own administration — even going so far as to take notes from his interpreter and order the linguist to stay silent, The Washington Post reported on Saturday.

It's unclear whether Trump has taken interpreters' notes on more than one occasion, but several officials told The Post they never received a reliable readout from Trump and Putin's meeting in Helsinki in July 2018, which no Cabinet officials or Trump aides attended.

US officials told The Post that no detailed records exist — even classified ones — of Trump's face-to-face conversations with Putin in five occasions over the last two years.

Of course official, detailed records exist. But would need to be translated from Russian of course.

Yeah I still support Trump. He needs to build the wall though.

if Trump's hiding interpreter notes he should be dragged out immediately

enough with the 1-day stories demonstrating his complete unfitness for office

Thats silly, no reason a president shouldn't be able to have a private conversation with others without a readout being reported.

"without a readout being reported"

this is beyond not reporting... this is hiding from his own administration

he was 100% pro-Russia all campaign, he resisted all sanctions against them (he has not once advocated for anything against Russia), never shown even minor annoyance at them for attacking our elections (even repeatedly defending Russia & smearing our intel agencies)

plus, even if he didn't appear to be entirely in Russia's pocket, he's an incompetent ignorant buffoon... we can't trust him alone to deal w/ our affairs

Today's Republicans are all united by narcissism. Turtle doesn't care. He only cares about narrow things that might help him. The tax scam was 95% for the super rich but he got his little slice so it makes him happy. Trump is hurting tons of people but none of them are anybody he knows. I doubt he even loves his own kids anyways. He certainly doesn't care about climate change because it's inconvenient to him so he'll just wish it away.

What's sad is that there are so many people like him. Tens of millions of Americans and all marching in lock step with a traitor who throws them demagogic crumbs.

Primitive humans survived ten thousand years through the great warming thaw of the last ice age. Somehow I think we will survive two degrees. This is about the only thing Trump is accidentally correct on.

A period corresponding with one of our genetic bottlenecks when the global human population numbered single digit thousands?

Warm is good. Once you have invented refrigeration and otherwise effectively deal with bacteria, fungae, and various parasites.

So good any time now.

On a more serious note. The big deal of course is that dramatic change is incredibly disruptive over the medium term and we have no idea what might happen over the long term (Venus is a nice example of a planet with excessive global warming. Mars a nice example of a planet with too little global warming).

A precautionary approach would suggest not doing the global warming thing.

The ΔT on those instances aren't exactly on the same scale as our "Go Green!" bumper sticker push. Not a fan of fearmongering for power.

You are obviously a bigger fan of dykes than I am.

What would you over under number be for 2019 for federal assistance to flood damage on unisurable property in the US?

A sense of urgency + federal funding always gives graft. Though no where up there like pallets of cash flown to Iraq for random and unaccountable distribution.

Are you suggesting not having a sense of urgency, not having federal funding, or complete political and fiscal reform of the United States?

McKobb coming in proving his super ignorance again. All these dumb talking points spread by oil companies instantly absorbed by ignorant white men.

So much ignorance easily disproven but that would require some scientific literacy and an ability to learn.

I was never a Trump supporter. But at the same time I've never quite found myself sad Hillary was not president.

I'm still of the mind it's worth this disaster of a president just to prevent another "American royal families" (Bush, Clinton, Kennedy types) president.

I went to the polls and voted straight L, and fully expect a Hillary landslide. So when I was sitting at the bar watching swing states turn red my reaction was just, "Holy fuck lulz, maybe I should sell my Lockheed stock"

Many legal experts say the interpreters notes can be kept confidential and congress can't compel the interpreter to testify because that could undermine future meetings with world leaders.

At this point I think President Trump is trolling the press by keeping some of these things secret. They want so bad to see notes from this meeting, his tax returns and many other things and just for shit and giggles President Trump has said no.
