The big deal of course is that dramatic change is incredibly disruptive over the medium term and we have no idea what might happen over the long term (Venus is a nice example of a planet with excessive global warming. Mars a nice example of a planet with too little global warming). A precautionary approach would suggest not doing the global warming thing.

At this point I think President Trump is trolling the press by keeping some of these things secret. They want so bad to see notes from this meeting, his tax returns and many other things and just for shit and giggles President Trump has said no.
