Teachers are well paid and a $2k USD per month housing allowance is the norm for ESF teachers. Between the two, we should be able to get something acceptable. I'm liking the idea of a maid though. After spending 6 months in a serviced apartment, I can appreciate how nice it is to have someone else picking up after me.

Post tax: My base rate is higher than I could get in my home city, and almost as high as anything I could get in Sydney. An average bonus is about 40 percent. Six months ago I was close to getting more in Singapore. This experience would have made the difference. 3. Yep. Keeping my money out of the country and keeping ready to leave. 4. Big concern is my daughter.
