What is pancreatic cancer.

Something bad with a low survival rate. Especially late stage like his. Typical survival time is 2 to 6 months. He can afford the best treatment but still...

swayze and i believe jobs both died from pancreatic cancer, it is a bitch and modern medicine, no matter how much money you have, isn't capable of stopping it

"it is a bitch and modern medicine, no matter how much money you have, isn't capable of stopping it"

Jobs had a "good" form of pancreatic cancer, but he didn't rely on "modern medicine," but instead used hippie Eastern bullshit nonsense.

Normal people have regrets of like, not fucking that girl, not working harder at yadda yadda...

Can you imagine the brief, intense regret at realizing you're going to fucking die thirty years early because you fell for pseudoscience and exacerbated your illness? And the ensuing panic and foray into recommended treatments that were far too late?

Not sure what Forwyn's point is. I'm not criticizing Jobs. I'm saying that his death didn't necessarily have anything to do with the failure of "modern medicine." Although a dumbass like obaminated probably thinks modern medicine is some kind of liberal conspiracy that can only be solved with guns and jesus.

Alex is 78. He says he's going to fight this all the way because he still has 3 more years to go on his contract. This is a tough one to fight. I wish him luck.

Just an addendum to sd, not a rebuttal or anything.

No, I am literally stating a fact. It is sad that modern medicine cant save you from pancreatic cancer. If you get it. No matter who you are. You are going to die. That is sad.

And I dont blame jobs for trying out of the box stuff to cure it because western medicine just cuts you up. Shoots you with radiation and Hope's it doesnt come back. Which it always does and then it comes back on you when you've been cut up and shot with radiation (so it comes back on a lesser version of you)

Organ cloning could help in the future, but for now, he should have kept it a secret, gone to South America, had a matching pancreas stolen, and replaced his defective one. The side effects of anti-rejection medications tend to be lesser than chemo side effects ;)

(not actual medical advice)

the thing with pancreatic cancer is that it grows onto your intestines and your liver, so it isn't isolated to one organ. it simply destroys you

"No, I am literally stating a fact. It is sad that modern medicine cant save you from pancreatic cancer. If you get it. No matter who you are. You are going to die. That is sad."

You mentioned Steve Jobs, who had a very rare, less agressive form of pancreatic cancer that has a much better prognosis. But he delayed modern treatment and sought alternative medicines which, suprise, did jack shit. It's conceiveable that he might have lived if he relied on "modern medicine" from the start. Why don't you stop embarrassing yourself?

[obaminated]: "the thing with pancreatic cancer is that it grows onto your intestines and your liver, so [it isn't isolated to one organ]. it simply destroys you"

@the portion I bracketed: not quite fitting phrasing; growth into other organs is part of cancer staging. Stages 0-III would be localized cancers of almost all types ("almost all" because some cancers can be stage III but will have spread, though pancreatic cancer is not one of these — at least by Overall Stage Grouping, not by TNM). Stage IV cancer would be cancers that have spread to other organs/tissues, so pancreatic cancer would not be alone in being a cancer which "isn't isolated to one organ" (i.e., any stage IV cancer would fit this description).

But it's right that it's in a bad spot, being near the liver and intestines. And it's one of the worst because it is (typically) diagnosed late, so even though it's *not* a particularly fast-spreading cancer, it's usually found too late for most options to be effective.

More or less; I was fixing the factual error in your statement while agreeing with the rest.

Don't waste your time arguing with obaminated. He is allergic to nuance.
