Utopia Talk / Politics / Tony Blair: treasonous whore

Apparently not content with lying his ass off in order to drag the UK into one of the most needlessly destructive conflicts of our time, Blair is now "secretly advising French president Emmanuel Macron to keep Britain in the EU." In doing so, he is not only unquestionably undermining the democratic will of the British people, but the position and bargaining strength of the British government vis-a-vis the EU as well.

http://new...keep-britain-eu-145430104.html

How can anyone seriously defend this behavior? May needs to show some balls for once and jail this dictionary definition of a traitor already.

And people still think that the elitist conspiracy to stop Brexit from the very first is a ridiculous notion. Pffft.

Blair advising that a likely outcome is

a. getting an update on the current will of the British people through a referendum.

b. leaving the EU and joining a customs union.

Is treasonous how?

UK voters made an unquestionably stupid mistake. The fact that a former leader is now conspiring with the french is proof how stupid voters are.

So when some people agree with your views it is a mandate but when they disagree with your views they made a stupid mistake.

There is a reason why absolute majority of MPs were against Brexit including May. UK gets far more benefits from staying in EU thats just a fact.

Rugian:

Conspiracy crap.

Firstly, what credible advice could Blair give on how to kill Brexit? The negotiation position is long solidified, and the decision is now in the hands of parliament. Further Blair has no real influence in the UK anymore.

Far more likely, Blair can lobby Macron on how he might respond to the UK deciding to hold a second referendum or ask for an A50 extension. In public he's been very clear on this: if the UK decided to hold a second referendum, the EU should reconsider it's position on freedom of movement.

The other thing is Macron seeking to understand how parliament is likely to behave on these three crucial votes to inform French unilateral policy making on handling no deal.

Also, even if he was doing exactly as you suggested, that would certainly not be treason.

We are not at war with the EU, or France. They are not our enemies.

Also interesting that Rugian has nothing to say about Farrage and Daniel Kawczynski lobbying the Italian and Polish govts to veto any extension should the UK govt request it.

Which is a far clearer example of undermining the govt, and both Farrage and Kawczynski (unlike Blair) currently hold public office and are under oath to act in the interests of the country, and are here conspiring with foreign powers to subvert the will of parliament. (Which still isn't treason, but far better example of misconduct that Rugian is getting at).

Ah, so the plans are finally published. Jolly good.

So Shannon, if you are reading, as I said, we'd be forced to give up control of our borders rather than risk conflict in NI.

That conflict you said was impossible, and laughed at David Cameron and pretended he was taking about WW3. Fun times eh?

Or we could go with May's plan, and effectively hand NI over to the south. Not possible.

Ho hum.

This is what a conflict between a polity that has power Vs one that only has sovereignty looks like.

This is what you have led our country into: humiliation.

"This is what you have led our country into: humiliation"

Yah.

There was no grand idea. Hence the outcome.

The two of you are empty passive husks. You serve no grander purpose than the average church fearing near starved peasants of the middle ages. Uninformed, sheepish, and desperate to be told.

Pillz:

Couldn't be more wrong.

Before, we got to tell others, by pursuading others to our position. Now, we are being told. That's what Shannon's policies have achieved.

He meant us literally.

Pillz
I meant that the idea of brexit is not anchored to a grand idea. That is why it failed.

It has become a national humiliation no matter the final legal outome.

As to your opinion of my character: lol.

Jergul:

I understood. But his argument is that we are waiting for the EU to tell us what to do and we can't conceive of freedom bullshit.

The whole argument is back to front.

"In doing so, he is ... unquestionably undermining the ... bargaining strength of the British government ..."

That reminds me of this scene in Blazing Saddles.
