Anthony Comello was arrested Saturday in New Jersey and charged in the brazen slaying of Francesco “Franky Boy” Cali, the reputed boss of the Gambino crime family in New York.

The 24-year-old Staten Island resident appeared in an Ocean County courtroom Monday, where he waived his right for an extradition back to face murder charges in New York. In a seemingly bizarre move, Comello appeared in court with the words “MAGA forever” and “United we stand” scribbled in blue ink on his hand.

Cali’s death outside his home in the Todt Hill section of Staten Island on Wednesday evening marked the first killing of a mafia crime boss since 1985, when Gambino boss Paul Castellano was gunned down outside a Manhattan steakhouse.
