Cause if these girls are getting married off to other minors, it's just pretty shitty for them and by their parents. But minors under 16 marrying adults (who impregnated them) should definitely just be a slam dunk court conviction.

If some guy drags a pregnant 12 year old to a courthouse and tries to marry her, that's definitely going to raise some red flags. As for the Massachusetts law, my uninformed and bigoted opinion is that it has to do with the historic Catholic population in general, filthy pedo papist scum that they are.
