Asgard Member	Sun Apr 14 16:18:16 Israel has 3 branches of governance: the parliament (Knesset), the elected government made of a coalition of parliament members who also serve as ministers (they can quit parliament if in government but rarely do), and the court. The court, while making every wish of the government and parliament come true with legal backing, is the punching bag of Shakked and her fascist friends, calling for it's dismantling, because it's "leftist". Reason being is that it's just doing it's job, while being very timid of the government, and only preventing the craziest laws the parliament proposes (the politicians know there crazy bills will be rejected and they count on the court to do their job... They only propose their bills to gain more popularity). What laws? Nothing major, just the complete annexation of the west bank, complete disenfranchisement of all none Jews, and what not. Also it's a status thing. Judges are elected for life by a varied committee, a committee that the government and parliament (did I mention parliament members and government ministers are the same people?) gains more and more ground in the committee, enabling them to elect crazier and wackier and more religious judges, who would sooner judge according to ancient Jewish laws rather than basic humanistic and modern values.
