Aaaaaah, even the words themselves feel good to write. I know it ain't over until the fat lady sings, but I can't wait to start celebrating already. This is such a joyful occasion, and I couldn't be enjoying the prospect more.

I'm so ecstatic for the UK, really I am. This is going to be a great two years for you guys, I hope you realize it. He hasn't even been confirmed yet, but I already feel like I know what it's like to live in the days of Winston Churchill. I couldn't be happier for the future of your country.

Anyway, here's your future Prime Minister getting involved a domestic:

"Police were called to the home of Boris Johnson and his partner, Carrie Symonds, in the early hours of Friday morning after neighbours heard a loud altercation involving screaming, shouting and banging.

Johnson left his wife, Marina Wheeler, last year and began a relationship with Symonds, who has been credited with revitalising his appearance and approach to politics. She was part of his team when he publicly launched his campaign for the Tory leadership earlier this month.

In recent weeks the couple have been sharing a flat in a converted Victorian house. It has been reported that they intend to move into Downing Street together if he is elected leader."

Johnson is a national joke. He's nothing like Churchill. You have to sup deep on the cup of insanity to think so.

With a working majority of 3, soon to be 2, I think you are being rather optimistic about two years.

And he's unlikely to be a lapdog.

You're going to need us after the UK crashes out of the EU with no deal on October 31. And to be clear, we are ready to come to support our special ally when that does happen. Granted, we may need some incentives such as backing us on Iran or opening up your NHS to some structural changes, but that's still a pretty even trade IMO.

Incidentally. What's the actual process for requesting a prorogation?

There will be no prorogation. Last time the crown attempted to rule without Parliament, the crown was abolished, and the wearer had his head removed.

The NHS will not be opened to the US or restructured. It's the closest thing you can get to a national religion.

You want to talk scary; after the war our exports fell by a fifth, while per capita incomes were anywhere between 20% and 40% lower in 1790 than they were in 1774. If we were able to stomach that, then British Independence should be a breeze by comparison.

But regardless. Just because there are non-economic factors at play in the decision-making doesn't mean mean the decision-making is incomprehensible. Bilateral treaties on WTO terms have repeatedly been stated as the end-goal.

Boris Johnson isn't a monarch and nobody's asking Lizzy II to start direct rule, so that's a bunch of hyperbole there.

When I say the NHS will be restructured, I am exaggerating somewhat. But it's not inconceivable that some contract offerings be opened to US firms.

As for foreign military adventures, Brexit was an isolationist vote, and we won't be able to afford it.

Proroguing parliament is crown reserved power, and while "nobody's asking Lizzy II to start direct rule", what proroguing parliament means in the proposed context is the PM, acting as the crown, is proposing to rule directly with no legislature, or accountability to parliament. Proroguing parliament means the govt can't be subject to no confidence motions and arguably wouldn't need to hold elections (nobody left to compel them to).

It's profoundly a dictatorial act in this context.
