Tulsi, Klobuchar & Ron Paul are the only ones who should advance from that group stage

I liked that they were speaking spanish during the debate, instead of english.

“We need to include every person in the success of this economy,” he [O’Rourke] said in Spanish

Include everyone except the english-speaking? Lol

It's bad.

Trump deserves to lose (and have his family left destitute, exiled from NY and shunned for all of eternity) but omfg these clowns:

- "not reproductive freedom but reproductive justice" <wild applause>
- Basically every time Julian Castro says something
- Specifically calling out paying for women's health for trans females
- Bill de Blasio
- Gimmick Spanish

I'm only 40 minutes in but Jesus Christ.

Gabbard would smash Trump. Dems too retarded and and obsessed with 'muh Russia' for her to have a shot at the nomination though.

I still like Bernie. Biden was more focused on the clock so that he could cut himself off and almost looked relieved when he did.

Lots of Dems are still hung up on mUh bUtChEr aSsAd and legit have no problem with us funnelling anti-tank missiles to headchoppers for years, and are further upset that Tulsi met with Trump after his win, possibly contributing to his cessation of said funnelling

"But Gabbard, an Iraq war veteran, is considered a long shot. That’s in part because of her controversial meeting with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad two years ago"

http://qz....ut-in-first-democratic-debate/

"she has been heavily criticized for meeting with the brutal Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad and for questioning whether his regime carried out chemical weapons attacks."

http://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/rosiegray/tulsi-gabbard-maga-debate

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) may have met with Donald Trump during the presidential transition and Trump’s transition team may have put together a vetting document on the Hawaii Democrat as part of considering her for the post of Secretary of Veterans Affairs. But a spokesperson for Gabbard now insists to The Daily Beast that she didn’t know she was considered for the position and was never asked about it.

If you like your plan, then fuck you:

"In an emailed statement to campaign reporters titled "Sanders Calls for No Middle Ground on Medicare for All," the Vermont socialist senator says:

Let us all be very clear about this. If you support Medicare for All, you have to be willing to end the greed of the health insurance and pharmaceutical industries. That means boldly transforming our dysfunctional system by ending the use of private health insurance, except to cover non-essential care like cosmetic surgeries. And it means guaranteeing health care to everyone through Medicare with no premiums, no deductibles and no copays. It is imperative that we remain steadfast in our commitment to guarantee health care as a human right and no longer allow private corporations to make billions of dollars in profits off Americans’ health care."

Between thid and open borders, I cant wait for when the Dems have to start actually pitching this extremist shit to general voters.

Rugian, so in other words, you got yours and fuck anyone else who doesn't. I'm guessing that you get yours through your employee benefits package.

I hope your job sucks and you can't quit because you have to have that insurance.

patom,

To steal Sam's bit for a minute here, my intelligence and professional skillset make me a highly desirable person from an employment perspective. It's safe to say that I'm not fretting about losing my coverage due to job loss.

What I DO fret about is seeing my health care quality and coverage decline because a bunch of extremist Democrats want to nationalize the entire industry and give free benefits to illegals and failures of society.

"you got yours and fuck anyone else who doesn't."

Where did you get that out of concern over elimination of private insurance? Push your Medicare for all, this new blood out for insurance is just sharpening a guillotine for the sake of it.

Fun fact: private health insurance exists in Europe and for the same level of cover is cheaper than in the US.

Your system is so fundamentally inefficient it makes everything more costly, even private insurance.

33 of 34 developed countries have universal healthcare and all but 12 of the 33 have a single-payer system.

Every single Dem candidate supports Medicare for all, and those asked support it for illegals. The new goalpost for progressive Dems is elimination of private insurance.

"The new goalpost for progressive Dems is elimination of private insurance."

What?

"and those asked support it for illegals"

That is a more interesting point that illustrates the oddity of your system.

Very few are calling for the elimination of private insurance. Those who have the money will always have private insurance.

As US law mandates, Hospitals are not allowed to refuse treatment for anyone showing up at an ER. Their symptoms will be treated, they will get a bill for their treatment.

Hell my wife and I are both on Medicare and we both have had to use an ER. They give us a bill for what Medicare won't cover and we just set up a payment plan with the Hospital and pay until the bill is paid. It's cheaper than supplemental insurance. Which really doesn't pay a hell of a lot.

The "very few" are two of the frontrunners, and the most progressive of the bunch. Kamala was with them but she's a black Clinton, so she moderated on that.

It's no longer progressive to back Medicare for All - every nominee is behind that.

You do realize that private insurance would become smaller as a conscequence of universal healthcare, right?

In order to lower medical care cost in the US there also has to be something done with Tort Reform. Virtually all medical practitioners have to carry malpractice insurance. The Insurers love the system they have now because they can raise the rates to cover all payouts and really don't bother to defend the practitioners. It's one hell of a racket between the ambulance chasers and the insurers.

Throw in the Big Pharma oxygen thieves and you could reduce the cost of medicine drastically.

The biggest cause of expenses in our system is the administrative state only it is not the public administrative state but the private administrative state.

In the 90's you'd have an account specialist that would bargain with insurance companies and uninsured patients to get doctors paid. You would have one for every 5 doctors.

Today, we have one account specialist per doctor.

Then there's the insurance side where they hire a ton of people to try and avoid paying out to hospitals and other providers as well.

All of this is absolutely wasteful but Republicans don't see it that way because they are myopic and only think that the government can be wasteful.

rofl, I'll just be over here not fluent in German, Scots, or Gaelic because of mUh oPpResHun

http://www...-is-why-i-do-not-speak-spanish

"People, I think, internalized this oppression about it, and basically wanted their kids to first be able to speak English," Castro said Sunday in an interview aired on MSNBC. "And I think that in my family, like a lot of other families, that the residue of that, the impact of that is that there are many folks whose Spanish is not that great."
