"BIDEN DEFENDS BIDENCARE — The Democratic frontrunner on Monday touted his newly released health plan building on the Affordable Care Act while extending a public health insurance option to millions.

"If you like your health care plan, your employer-based plan, you can keep it" under his proposal, the former vice president said at a candidates forum convened by AARP in Iowa."

The whole problem with that promise is that if universal health care is instituted, employers won't be obligated to provide health insurance.

They may offer supplements to Medicare as an incentive to keep and hire employees. Things like Dental and prescription plans.

employer-based health insurance is weird... it seems like something china would... like how they put nets around the buildings you live & work in so you can't kill yourself

Not at all. Its part of your pay, if you really think about it.

And long before it was mandated, it was a rarity used as an incentive.

They didnt used to be... but obama fucked up that loophole a bit. Now healthcare itself is taxed.

personal health spending is also tax deductible with some limits, so its actually not much of a loophole, even before obamacare.

Pretty much a wash now.

If I'm not mistaken, employers started offering health insurance to lure workers during WWII when wage freezes were put in place or something like that.
The one thing that the right is terrified of publicizing in their criticism of health care systems like Canada's, is the freedom it allows people. Freedom, like my grand daughter has to start her own business without fear of losing health care for her family.
I know that there are a hell of a lot of people in this country that only work at some jobs because they fear losing health insurance as a benefit. Hell the only reason I worked in a jail was because I needed insurance to cover my wife until she was old enough to go on Medicare. The day I didn't need it I was out the door. At least half the people that I worked with were in the same boat.

Biden has been plagiarizing for more than thirty years now while running for office.

It isn't surprising that he is borrowing from President Obama. He will be claiming he was born in Hawaii any day now.

"The day I didn't need it I was out the door."

I mean this is true for all pay. Once the average worker pays off their home and has a bit of spending money built up they retire.
