Asked if “under DOJ policy the president could be prosecuted for obstruction of justice crimes after he leaves office,” Mueller responded: “True.”

Do you think Trump is afraid to step down now?

You know these proceedings are worthless when Democrats are openly saying "yeah we dont expect to get any new information, but it's easier for us to put Muellers report in attack ads if it's in verbal format."

All show, no substance.

He will win another term and after that he will become the UN President and make the whole world great again. So no prosecution.

I'm behind real-time, watching now

Republicans are disgusting... the 2nd R who went spent his whole time on how it wasn't Muellers job to exonerate Trump and that his role was to report his decisions so he shouldn't have written Volume 2 at all as no conclusion on obstruction reached... he cut Mueller off as soon as he noted Trump was in a unique position then shithead filibustered the rest of his time

It was a simple answer, he could not indict, so he reported the facts of the crimes to preserve the evidence and for others to use as he said in report. But apparently shithead thinks no matter what crimes found by Trump they should not have been investigated or reported at all.

A later Republican slid in that the Steele dossier started this all to link to Hillary... a TOTAL lie drummed out by Trump and Fox.

a number of the R shitbags pushing that idea it was improper to list or even investigate Trumps obstructive acts when not charging

so to Rs, the President is above the law (at least when it's an R president, obviously these views would disappear in the reverse situation... and yes Ds would change too)

even in the 2nd hearing, Rs are struggling to understand his no exoneration comment

it's extremely fucking simple... he can not indict the president so he's noting that his not charging Trump should not be considered as clearing him

totally obvious... plus suggests he wanted to charge

“I want to add one correction to my testimony this morning. I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu, who said and I quote, ‘You didn’t charge the President because of the OLC opinion. That is not the correct way to say it. As we say in the report and as I said at the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the President committed a crime.”

Yeah Forwyn, but that's not the way Schiff will spin things...and the media still pays attention to Schiff, despite the fact that hes a proven liar who spent two years peddling a false collusion narrative, and who continues to peddle it even after Mueller said it was bullshit...
tumbleweed
the wanderer
Wed Jul 24 16:27:59
that is not news... Mueller states on page 1 or 2 he would not make a determination because of the OLC opinion

Lying shitbag Barr tried to pretend the OLC had no bearing

Mueller's whole purpose was to make determinations
- nothing prevented him from concluding Trump did not commit obstruction
- something did prevent him from concluding Trump did commit obstruction.

He makes no conclusion... so I wonder what that means...

Plus he leaves yet more clues with citing he's preserving evidence, and others have the ability to act.

"Case closed" is a retarded conclusion

"Handing corrupt piece of shit James Comey a pink slip via Twitter" is not an act of obstruction, no matter how butthurt he got over it.

Also hard to argue obstruction if the collusion charges themselves were just made-up bullshit fabricated by the opposition in order to smear his campaign and presidency...which they were. Name me one person who would tolerate his own subordinates peddling and indulging in such a monumental lie against him.

Trump is the victim of one of the largest acts of defamation ever conceived against an individual...the press is truly the enemy of the people.

i'm sure Trump & Fox appreciate that you believe the Steele Dossier was the reason for the investigation and that is was a hoax

i'm pretty sure it's never even mentioned in Volume 1 (the volume on Russia interference & Trump connections)... weird for such a central piece

plus corruptly firing Comey wasn't even one of the obstruction incidents they cited today (at least in the first hearing which was the one on obstruction, i didn't watch the 2nd fully)

i mean, at this point, why even bother talking about it? we already knew the democrats would fail. look at tw. he has been told time and time again that trump will go down and time and time again he was told wrong. this is literally nothing new. its boring really. trump didn't commit a crime. democrats have nothing on him. but they will keep going after him because that is what their base wants. unfortunately for them their base is loud and overpowering and is going to alienate the rest of the country. trump will get reelected. tw may or my not have a heart attack.

hell, itd be poetic if tw legit got super unhealthy and ended up dying during the trump presidency because he never found a way to walk away from the internet/tv for a weekend.

"trump didn't commit a crime" false
"democrats have nothing on him" false

but i'll agree w/ kargen, Mueller stuck to his report as he stated he would, there were no shocking reveals (although the report itself is damning enough if Barr hadn't tainted public perception)

Let's not pretend that the Democrats who issued a subpoena to Mueller and then criticized him for not giving them the TV-friendly sound clips they desired are any better.

It's worth noting that Nadler is facing a primary challenge from an AOC-like progressive who has been hammering him on not being aggressive enough on impeachment. That would help explain why he was trying to convince Pelosi to initiate impeachment proceedings even after the hearing fizzled out. *Any* effort to impeach Trump should be understood as nothing more than a sorry attempt to appease the rabid extremists in the party.

And as for the origins of the investigation itself, I don't recall referencing Steele here...it was the entrapment campaign against the Greek guy that set it off.
tumbleweed
the wanderer
Thu Jul 25 21:17:40
entrapment is just the newest conspiracy theory, but at least corrupt AG Barr is on the case so I guess we'll see if it pans out,.. not that it matters if no evidence found or even fully disproven, nothing changes

---

"Didn’t take long for Mueller to once again vindicate President @realDonaldTrump. No collusion. No obstruction. And now Mueller all but admits it was all along a total witch hunt"

Did Fox New run a deep fake version of the hearings?

The nutjobbery isn't from random nutjobs anymore but the actual people in power and their spokespeople... truly disturbing

Entrapment - "the action of tricking someone into committing a crime in order to secure their prosecution."

The Greek guy committed his crimes well before the investigation started but cuckservatives have gotten use to lying brazenly.
tumbleweed

Thu Jul 25 21:36:24
like the coup theory, the entrapment theory doesn't seem well thought out

the theory is Mifsud corruptly set up Papadopolous by telling him about Russia (& that's as far as they take the conspiracy theory it seems)

if we go further, that means they hoped Papadopolous would spill the info to someone who would then alert the FBI... (which he does do, yay the plan worked)... then as the info was NEVER MADE PUBLIC (before the election), apparently the plan was to have Trump elected then bring it up as means to get an investigation going that apparently would somehow remove Trump even though the investigation would NOT FIND ANYTHING as it was all a setup in this scenario... but forget all, that... it somehow succeeds and it would thus install Pence... so i guess Mifsud was working for Pence

these theories make no sense is what i'm driving at
tumbleweed
the wanderer
Thu Jul 25 22:13:30
and the R's also suggested the Trump Tower Don Jr/Russia collusion meeting was also a setup... which follows the same trajectory as the above entrapment... & the FBI coup

Mike Pence is quite diabolical... w/ really poorly designed plans...
Forwyn

"The Greek guy committed his crimes well before the investigation started"

Repeating a sentence spoken to you is not a crime

"as it was all a setup in this scenario"

The investigation has undoubtedly weakened Trump's admin, regardless of findings - and plenty are still pushing obstruction. ahem

Why was Mifsud not charged?
tumbleweed
the wanderer
Fri Jul 26 00:17:31
that's a pretty long game (& all obstruction was done by Trump himself, no one forced him)

if the 'Deep State' & the FBI are both in on this seems they could do a much better frame job

Trump himself would've happily accepted Russian help, go right to him & keep evidence

and Don Jr was only disappointed the info wasn't useful enough, bring him better dirt he'd have been thrilled

There was zero reason to tell Papa, some irrelevant junior advisor.

Why was Mifsud not charged?
tumbleweed
the wanderer
Fri Jul 26 00:34:52
i don't know, Mueller didn't answer... as he probably would not have for anyone not charged

but if Mueller is corrupt, leading a team of corrupt 'angry democrats', all the more suspicious they were unable to frame Trump

...and weird that Russia really -was- helping Trump w/ criminal behavior

but as noted, actually corrupt AG Barr is on the case, so we'll get the answers

Remember foreskin is a dumbass who went on and on about Seth Rich and still doesn't recant now that it's been made obvious that the whole conspiracy theory was another Russian ploy.

Yeah, still weird to go after some nobody advisor for false statements but not the root source.

"weird that Russia really -was- helping Trump w/ criminal behavior"

Not weird at all. They had a projected candidate who would be more favorable to them. Much like Google.

"who went on and on about Seth Rich"

I said it wasn't solved, and any attempts to spout dEbUnKeD are retarded, much like you. You cannot prove a negative without solving the murder.

tumbleweed
the wanderer
Fri Jul 26 11:48:00
the nobody adviser was the American citizen who was repeatedly lying about material parts of the investigation

as to Mifsud's lies...

"The false information and omissions in Papadopoulos's January 2017 interview undermined investigators' ability to challenge Mifsud when he made these inaccurate statements."
(that's p 193)

so maybe if they could've properly challenged him they would've gotten more evidence to charge (pretty sure he left/fled the country after & never interviewed again)

Papadopolous was up to more shit w/ Russians than i realized... he was recruited big time... it's so comforting that Trump's no-vetting policy extends to his time as President

(& Seth Rich was debunked in the sense that the suggestion Hillary involved originated from Russia... there isn't any evidence he was preparing to damage Hillary which is the entire motive)

that dickbag from swordtails first link (Wed Jul 24 18:22:50) is now the DNI (Director of National Intelligence)

...he's one of the Rs who thinks Mueller shouldn't have written about Trump's crimes at all since Mueller didn't make a decision on them (even though the only reason he didn't make a final decision was because he was not permitted to act on it)

so a corrupt AG & a corrupt DNI

Maybe someone who's willing to oversee the single largest mass surveillance program in human history and then lie to Congress about it? That seems to be more in line with the "heroic" intelligence community you envision Trump besmirching.
tumbleweed

Fri Aug 02 14:00:13
is your argument the intelligence community should be disbanded, and everything be decided by Trump's gut?
tumbleweed

Fri Aug 02 15:07:40
at least Trump is being honest about the decision...

"
Our great Republican Congressman John Ratcliffe is being treated very unfairly by the LameStream Media. Rather than going through months of slander and libel, I explained to John how miserable it would be for him and his family to deal with these people....
....John has therefore decided to stay in Congress where he has done such an outstanding job representing the people of Texas, and our Country. I will be announcing my nomination for DNI shortly.
"

so it's not because of his weak resumé, weak support amongst even R's, and questionable claims on the resumé...

although he also apparently said, when asked by reporters about vetting, that “you vet for me” and it saves him money...

“You vet for me. I like when you vet. I think the White House has a great vetting process. You vet for me. When I give a name, I give it out to the press and you vet for me... We save a lot of money that way”

is full quote it seems

'you vet for me, then i libel/slander the hell out of you when you actually research the pick and point out how shitty they are'

nothing wrong with that process, right?
