It's a shitty city run by shitty people. Doesn't take a racist to realize how shitty it is.

Cummings district includes John Hopkins and median income is $60,000. Technically Trump admin has more rats than Baltimore.

It's not attacking Baltimore itself. It's enabling with Trump's clearly racist attack.

Repeatedly referring to African-American neighborhood as "being infested" is pretty racist.

It would be hilarious if it were, though! :D
Imagine if the threshold for "racism" was as low as calling a fucked up city "[fucked up]"/"a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess". It would make the words "racism" and "racist" pretty meaningless, which would potentially cause further division between reality and blatant exaggeration and drive realistic people away from race-baiting political rhetoric, possibly securing another 4 years of the God Emperor's rule. It would be... kind of an issue. I mean, *if* people had lowered the bar for racism. But they haven't, right?

the irony is that the left associates rats and shit with blacks and that is why cuckhat is calling it racist. in reality, it is fucking literal. it is a dirty fucking city, literally infested with rats and riddled with homicides.

"And Trump isn’t doing anything about it."

It's probably because his powers have been limited; the true enemies of the Republic prevent Trump from realizing his vision. Rome needs to appoint fully its God Emperor Caesar — Princeps, Imperator, Primus inter pares — with full discretionary powers so that he can make decisions for the will of the entire Republic as well as for small regions within the Republic. For Baltimore, this could mean provisionally replacing Elijah Cummings with a Trump loyalist General who has had success in Asia Minor. The Democratic party and its CNN propaganda machine could be disbanded and send to Gaul to fight the barbarians. Without these Palatine Hill bureaucrats, Trump's Wall could be built, order could be restored to the Republic, and spoils could be returned from the edges of the Empire.

I have never been to a city of any size that doesn't have that familiar city stench. Show me any city in the world that has a large working water front that is rat free.

Is it possible that Trump doesn't know that his son in law is a 'Slum Lord' in Baltimore? Ah the problem with being in Real Estate. So many properties you just can't keep track of it all.

Context is everything. Randomly calling Baltimore shitty isn't racist. But going after a black representative and then calling his city infested and having a long history of racism (Central Park 5) and then doubling down on that racism/ignorance: "They admitted their guilt."

That's racism.

So you might not be outright racist but if you're constantly enabling it by finding dumb excuses after the fact, that's not much better.
Cherub Cow

So if you’ve already decided that someone is racist, then everything they do kind of confirms your decision... a kind of confirmation bias, if you will. Sounds logical. Makes it easy to lower the bar for racism, so it’s going to be a tough 5 years.

We have plenty of evidence that Trump is racist, there's no need to make assumptions. It also makes no logical sense to put blame on a member of Congress for how their home city is fairing. As a member of Congress, Cummings isn't running Baltimore.

So we can conclude:
- Trump is racist (previous evidence)
- putting the onus on Cummings to clean up Baltimore is as logical as putting the onus on Trump
- this most recent comment may or may not be racist, but the context and secondary evidence suggests that it is, even if it's the begnin kind (or, accidental)
- any potential racism wouldn't be in calling Baltimore a shithole, but in how the comment was weaponized

So basically there’s almost no evidence that the Tweet was racist. Just flimsy context and confirmation bias, not any present and actionable words within the Tweet itself. Even an absolutely confirmed standing member of the KKK can point out that Nancy Pelosi and Cummins do not live in well-managed districts, and it would not be racist *unless* the KKK member added something like, “It’s because they’re black” (Pelosi as an honorary black person?).

Trump doesn’t seem to have pointed out Cummins’ race in his Tweet. More likely we’re looking at the Trump man-child having felt insulted by a Democrat, learning that that Democrat does in fact live in the #1 most dangerous populous city in the country, and taking to his complaint machine to strike more blows. There’s a quotation about not attributing to maliciousness what can be attributed to incompetence, and I think Trump’s incompetence is probably a more likely factor here if we really want to talk context.

I don't disagree here. There's no evidence that this particular comment was racist. But I'd bet a small amount of money expecting better than 1:1 odds that Trump was grumbling about damn niggers while he was formulating.

Naturally, Republican Party plans to have their annual retreat in rodent infested, filthy shithole Baltimore. The president, as per tradition, is expected to attend.

“President Trump on Saturday called Baltimore a “very dangerous & filthy place” and suggested that Democratic politicians, including Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, had made the city all but uninhabitable.

Leaders of Trump’s party appear to disagree: House Republicans have scheduled their yearly policy retreat for a downtown Baltimore hotel in September, according to two senior Republicans familiar with the plans.

That could present an uncomfortable situation for Trump, as sitting presidents customarily speak each year at their party’s House retreat.

The Republicans spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe arrangements that have yet to be made public. The website for the hotel, the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, and multiple third-party hotel booking sites show the hotel as sold out for the days of the retreat, Sept. 12 to 14, while showing availability at other nearby hotels.”

Meanwhile, here's video of a rat running by a Baltimore reporter covering the President's comments on live television:

http://twitter.com/FOXBaltimore/status/1155945892148420615

And here's Baltimore ex-Mayor Catherine Pugh exclaiming "Whoa, you can smell the rats" during a tour of the city (prior to having her homes raided by the FBI and IRS, of course):

http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/flashback-whoa-you-can-smell-rats-baltimore-mayor-told-tv-news-2018

Leave it to Democrats and Democratic media to accuse Trump or racism because THEY associate "rats" with black people. Everyone else associates rats with rats.

hey, cr, i hate to break it to ya, but generally speaking, political parties have retreats/conventions in cities where they can make a statement about improving the area. eg, this shitty rat infested city will be great again so long as you get rid of the corrupt shitheads that have run it into the ground for the past 40 years.

No, they generally do not, pocho. Show me the example of house or senate republicans making that statement in the place where they are holding their annual retreat. I’ll need multiple examples too, since you said it happens “generally”. If you need help googling past locations, let me know, I’ll laugh at your lazy ass. Also, I don’t know why you breaking it to me, are you making some point?

I feel like a person with CR's level of real-world experience wouldn't need to have the dichotomy between the rich and poor sections of a locality explained to him.

Then again, this is the same person that needed to have the common meaning of "ending the drug war" explained to him, so...

I think we need to differentiate between
1. Saying racist things
2. Being racist and holding racist beliefs and ideas.

You can say racist things out of anger and frustration in an attempt to hurt feelings and antagonize, without actually being a racist person. You are just an asshole. Just, an asshole.

”That could present an uncomfortable situation for Trump, as sitting presidents customarily speak each year at their party’s House retreat.”

He will go there and change his mind kinda and say nice things about the city and come on top. Why? Because people are emotional fucking idiots with amnesia. This is straight from Machiavelli’s The Prince. Wow maybe that Trump isn’t so bad after all! You have a negative view of someone and then when you meet them, they are quite nice. The contrast relative to your low expectations is a mind fuck for the pleb.

We know Trump is racist anyways. You can google the "Central Park 5." Even today, Trump doubles down on it. LoL at the dumbass excuses people make for Trump. "Look, there's this 10% chance he wasn't being racist when he said this and because he says mostly racist things all the time, it becomes 100% chance he's not racist!"

It's like how his dumbass supporters always act like they're the victims when Trump is going around attacking others and then when those other people respond, they act like they started it.

No trump started it.

And he's racist.

And lots of you enable him because, durrr politics is just a game and my side is winning durrr.

It was not limited to GWB no. Go back and watch the Daily show under Jon Stewart "interview" republican and conservative voters. We saw a lighter version of what is going on now with Trump during Obama. WE have the power now, we will make up for the W years.

It has gotten worse, but it did not start with Trump.

I mean this lampooning of the voters was going on during Clinton, it just wasn't on the Internet. I fondly remember an animated sketch where Clinton is explaining to GWB a map that shows where are all the "retards" live and where the smart people live and asks him how he feels about having all the retard votes.

GWB:
LIKE KING OF THE RETARDS! Now get out of my White house!

I may still have the flash animation my PC,
