Isn't it sad that the USA has been in a constant state of war since 1941.

LEGION Act signed into law

In a significant legislative victory for The American Legion, President Trump signed a bill July 30 that declares the United States has been in a state of war since Dec. 7, 1941.

The American Legion sought the declaration as a way to honor approximately 1,600 U.S. servicemembers who were killed or wounded during previously undeclared periods of war.

The LEGION Act (Let Everyone Get Involved In Opportunities for National Service Act) also opens the door for approximately 6 million veterans to access American Legion programs and benefits for which they previously had not been eligible.

My generation of veterans don't join the American Legion or the Veterans or Foreign Wars.

So they're desperate for membership. On it's face, this allows the guy who served for 2 years between 1985 to 1987 to join.

The American Legion here is shut down except for one day a year where they host a supper. Sad really but before that it became mostly just a bar for local degenerates to get good and drunk then fight in the parking lot. It hasn't been a place that had anything to do with veterans for a long time now.

More of a local thing really. We could take care of the American Legion without help from Washington if the desire was there.
