10:20-11:20 of 1st video covers the incident (warning bloody at end)

http://www.liveleak.com/view?t=CQNzg_1565895479

some suspicious movement at 10:35, plus suspicious hand locations while running

(although family claims he was just trying to keep his shorts up)

cops were responding to reports of armed muggers

seems possibly a reasonable shooting to me, i don't have a strong opinion on it :p

(i can't tell if a gun found)

yeah there was a gun. One of the local stations is saying the gun was tucked into his shorts. The others just say a gun was found on scene.

there appears to be a probable gun at 11:43 not sure why it's never clearly visible (that i can tell) seems they'd want to get a hold of it

but i would guess it was indeed a gun & he was the correct suspect & no big loss to society

i dunno if it will blow up into a big story or not, i only posted as it was starting to show up on news outlets

He was also facing sexual assault charges and was waiting to go to trial for that.

[tw]: "but i would guess it was indeed a gun & he was the correct suspect & no big loss to society"
[kargen]: "He was also facing sexual assault charges and was waiting to go to trial for that."

He sounds like a real winner.

His holster was kind of an interesting situation. I mean, I'm aware of discrete holsters like that, but seeing it on some random street urchin is funny. Maybe he was trying to level up in the local crime scene ;)

just some moron having the proper conclusion to their story. feel bad for the cop, he has to carry that for the rest of his life.

“feel bad for the cop, he has to carry that for the rest of his life.”

Eh, if it was a mistaken shooting, sure, but a day without ultraviolence is like a day without sunshine.

What I saw was a person running away and getting shot in the back. The lucky draw of the day for the cop was that he actually had a gun. That was not in any way obvious, he may as well have been reaching for a bag of weed/crack to throw a way, which also happens.

Follows the same pattern that we see over and over when people and pets are shot to death. Or when you need to be so thorough to cut open the pants of an already cuffed person, shot multiple times death moaning to get the gun.

Thin blue liners: "I'm all for gun rights"
Thin blue liners: "I carry two pistols in Wal-mart in case I need to stop muh mass shooting"
Also thin blue liners: "They found a gun after the fact so it's okay to shoot him 8 times in the back - if he didn't have a gun it's still okay because he reached - you can be an unarmed sobbing drunk guy and it's okay"

- the suspects being sought are known to have a gun
- the guy takes off right after they are informed they will be searched for a gun (w/ fat boy looking over at him right when that's said) :p
- he's reaching into his shorts while running

if i was the cop, i'd probably be concerned for my safety... also they cite code at the very end of the 1st video & seems like deadly force for just 'preventing escape of someone believed to have used a deadly weapon to commit a felony'(paraphrase) is justifiable on its own

see 20:30-20:55 of 1st video
so 'deadly force' sections 2(a) - maybe, & 2(b)(I) specifically

i'm not a lawyer, but sounds like cop fits that law to me

The cards all fell in the right order today, the point is that it followed the same pattern as when they don't and dogs and unarmed mentally handicapped people get killed. When looking for a gun, you may also find drugs or other illegal items, which could illicit the same reactions from the two guys.

The problem is systemic, but even a problematic system will produce the right kind of results. You have a police force that is more of a military force locked in a war with society.

<<deadly force for just 'preventing escape of someone believed to have used a deadly weapon to commit a felony<<

I sure hope you botched that paraphrase, using deadly force to prevent someone BELIEVED to have USED a deadly weapon to commit A felony. War zone mentality.

here's the text, people can analyze for themselves
(i put '***' by the (2),(b),(I) parts that seem to apply imo):

----------

(1) Except as provided in subsections (2) and (2.5) of this section, a peace officer is justified in using reasonable and appropriate physical force upon another person when and to the extent that he reasonably believes it necessary:

(a) To effect an arrest or to prevent the escape from custody of an arrested person unless he knows that the arrest is unauthorized;  or

(b) To defend himself or a third person from what he reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of physical force while effecting or attempting to effect such an arrest or while preventing or attempting to prevent such an escape.

***(2) A peace officer is justified in using deadly physical force upon another person for a purpose specified in subsection (1) of this section only when he reasonably believes that it is necessary:

(a) To defend himself or a third person from what he reasonably believes to be the use or imminent use of deadly physical force;  or

***(b) To effect an arrest, or to prevent the escape from custody, of a person whom he reasonably believes:

***(I) Has committed or attempted to commit a felony involving the use or threatened use of a deadly weapon;  or

(II) Is attempting to escape by the use of a deadly weapon;  or

(III) Otherwise indicates, except through a motor vehicle violation, that he is likely to endanger human life or to inflict serious bodily injury to another unless apprehended without delay.

(combined w/ the 911 calls at start of video of people saying they were mugged by 2 guys... w/ some physical description... at gunpoint to establish the 'reasonably belief')

Well a quick skimming seems to verify your summary and my conclusion.

well also there's a difference between what's legal & what seems right

the dog murderers are probably acting legally most of the time while being wrong most of the time
