Bolton was to eager to bomb Iran, which Putin didn’t, so maybe he told/asked Trump that Bolton has to go.

What do you think?

It is good that Bolton is gone, though, regardless of why he got fired.

If it was because of Putin, then Putin may have saved the world from a big war, and Putin should win the Nobel Peace Prize.

that being said, Trump is afraid to confront people directly so he almost definitely didn't ask Bolton to resign himself... plus he never once has accurately described anything, so i'm gonna say Bolton's version sounds more accurate

Can someone explain why the whole Camp David thing is supposed to be a major controversy? I know that I'm supposed to be super angry that Trump wanted to hold peace talks there (what an asshole!) but have no idea why.

my issue would be the whole purpose... it was nothing but an attempt for Trump to have another spectacle for his greater glory as there's no chance he adds anything substantive to negotiations (& only reason to hold it there would be for Trump to attend)... plus he probably wanted to rush a deal for 9/11 (or just election purposes)

I think Bolton wanted to do more to Iran at this press conference. Maybe declare war. Trump knows what Putin thinks about that so Trump got into an argument with Bolton and then he fired him. So now Bolton can not attend this press conference and Pompeo and Mnuchin can only impose some more sanctions on Iran.

You want to know what I do care about? The fact that we've been at war for EIGHTEEN GODDAMN YEARS and there's still no end that's even mostly in sight. There are literally soldiers serving in Afghanistan now that weren't even alive when 9/11 happened. The whole nation-building venture has been massive waste of blood and treasure, and its beyond ridiculous that it's gone on this long.

I simply *dont* *care* if Trump negotiates with the Taliban at Camp David. I dont care if he does it in one of his golden hotels or in a casino lobby. I dont care if he does it on 9/11 or in a 7/11. If that's what it takes to bring the war to an end, I support it.
