Somethings to remeber

1)Biden is still well liked by Republican Senators

There are countless examples but most poignet was when McConnell at the last moment increased funding for cancer research in tribute to Biden's son.

2)Republicans strongly support funding for Ukraine

3)Trump's public excuses don't make any sense.

He first said that aid suspension was because of corruption concerns which surprised Republican Senators and the Pentagon later that day he said it was because European countries wern't giving enough. Also not true as the EU had approved $15 billion in block grants and loans.

4)TRUMP still doesn't realize what he did was illegal and wrong!!

R's have shown they put party completely over country... plus Fox News has totally lost its way... they've gone from partisan skew to just accepting total Trump bullshit

impeachment in the House is the best i'm hoping for, then sanity in November 2020

Trump's poll numbers have to completely tank. So far, he stays in his shithole presidency range of 38-42%. What has edged up is his disapproval rating. People who don't care have slowly joined the disapproval column so he's up from 52% disapproval to 54% or so now.

Obama's economy keeps him from tanking into George W. Bush territory. We'll see the bottom fall out if and when the economy hits a recession.

Which is to say, Republican senators will only vote to impeach if public opinion and political pressure is there.

Even so, I expect Trump to barely scrape by if and when impeachment gets to that point.

McCain was connected to the dossier by some retired British diplomat.

But we've established McCain should have gotten a firing squad years ago.

They hired an American firm, and that firm contracted with said brit.

private citizen Hillary's campaign hired a firm who hired an investigator who did oppo research on Trump's activities in Russia

President Trump asked the Ukraine President to launch criminal investigations into Biden & his son (& find Hillary's email server...) w/ the assistance of his personal lawyer... while first noting all the help US is giving Ukraine, with a major aid package dangling...

there's some difference

"said brit."

Nah, McCain's contact was an entirely different Brit, lulz

"Ukraine"

Is well-versed in election interference, after all

But we're still aiding them.

and the quid pro quo is there (though corrupt even without it)... as he not only cites the aid, he notes things haven't been reciprocal, there's no reason to say that reciprocal line other than to say 'you better start doing more for us'

the full 'rough transcript' they released is here about midway down page... Trump's clear focus & only point to the call was to get these investigations going (& insert Giuliani into it)... and based on nonsense lies as usual:

Trump has committed impeachable offenses (e.g., bombing Syria). Instead of calling him out for those, the retards bash him for Muh Russia and Muh Ukraine where he did nothing wrong. Lulz.

Impeachable is whatever congress thinks is impeachable. There is no definition. You can go by precedent, I suppose. For example, evidence in Clinton’ s obstruction of justice, something he was actually impeached over, was weaker than the evidence of obstruction of justice detailed in mueller report.

how can anyone say 'nothing wrong'

the allegations against Joe Biden are retarded

if this is fine, then he should be able to ask every leader of every country to investigate every Democratic politician (or respectable Republican) & their families over any complete nonsense he makes up

and that's even without the quid pro quo... the obvious leveraging of aid shoves it into the stratosphere of corruption

He lied under oath in a room full of people and his lie was recorded in multiple formats. How is that weak evidence? He was impeached because he perjured himself. Had he simply said yeah I got a blow job in the White House the investigation would have ended and we would have forgot about the whole thing three days later.

And to obaminated's point President Trump raised 5 million dollars within 24 hours of Pelosi making her announcement.

Nonsense in the same sense that I mentioned, everyone has an opinion on what is and what isn’t impeachable, and these are all opinions. But I would prefer to face obstruction charges based on what is in Starr report, than face obstruction charges based on what is in Mueller report.

Mueller

Starr
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starr_Report (obstruction sections, not perjury)

“He lied under oath in a room full of people and his lie was recorded in multiple formats”

Cretin, is this that’s perjury charge you are describing? We are discussing obstruction of justice. Bill was impeached on both charges

Okay he also after hearing Lewinsky was going to be a witness began taking steps to conceal their relationship, including suggesting she file a false affidavit, suggesting she use cover stories, concealing gifts he had given her, and helping her obtain a job to her liking. He also coached his secretary so she could repeat the denials.

So there you have both.

With the Clinton impeachment they used the Starr investigation instead of launching another investigation. With President Trump they are not satisfied with the investigation so have decided to just pull something out their asses and run with that.

Fun thing is President Clinton's lawyers really didn't argue much about the perjury charge. They instead said his popularity showed he was still fit to hold office.

Either way the impeachment died in the Senate and any impeachment of President Trump would do the same. Most people agree the talk of impeachment cost Republicans seats in the Senate. Just like talk of impeaching President Trump is boosting his supporters.

Pelosi should have stuck to her gut feeling and at least waited for the transcript to be released before heading face first into the shit storm to follow.

“So there you have both. ”

And this is why I called you a cretin, since we are very specifically discussing one, obstruction, not both. And you, being a usual cretinous self, insist on discussing perjury. Which is fine, but don’t drag me into it

“Fun thing is President Clinton's lawyers really didn't argue much about the perjury charge. “

Funny indeed, see previous point, dumbass
