I doubt that Trump has paid for the right to use that photo on the internet. Looks like he even edited the photo.

Whoever owns that photo should sue Trump for Copyright infringement.

Yeah, Trump is a thief.

Fair use under parody would apply to the use of the image. It is the editing of the image that would allow for it being characterized as fair use.

It's not parody.

Sure it is. Whether you find it funny or not doesn't change that.

You do not fundamentally understand the words you are using. The picture is not parody whatsoever. It's probably fair use.

I mean, splicing your head on the body of Rocky Balboa is pretty clearly an attempt at comedy, even if it's cringy Boomer shit

Sure, definitely. But not all comedy is parody. And this is most certainly not parody.

Yah I wouldn't call this parody. Just an absurdist joke.

So one can just take other people’s property and use it at your liking, citing ”fair use” and ”Well I was just having fun with it, I was trying to make people laugh”.

Consider the amount of time and money that the photographer used to create that picture, and the fact that the photo is UNIQUE – it can not be re-created.

And then some idiot comes and steals your work, using it and defiling it without the right to it.

Trump has no respect for other people’s peoperty rights. Very anti-American.

Trump is the wonderful humorist that believes farting inside someones oxygen tent is hilarious............to him.

Actually I have never seen him laugh. Sneer, deride, belittle, look down on others. But never just laugh out loud.

Paramount, copyright allows for fair use. One of the potential aspects for fair use is for the new work to not interfere or infringe on the marketability of the original work. Trump's Photoshop isn't going to compete with Rocky IV in any way on the market. Nobody is buying the picture, it just sits on the internet.

Now if Trump tried to sell posters of his Photoshop, that would very likely become a violation, as it is now in competition with the original work.

” Now if Trump tried to sell posters of his Photoshop, that would very likely become a violation”

He tweeted the photo on the internet. Giving it away, spreading it to maybe millions of people. That is basically the same thing. Or it should be. He may not get money directly, but he did this to gain something, which in turn may earn him moneys.

You guys are doing a great job disproving the idea that Trump haters have no sense of humor, by the way.

Its not trump haters, its the left in general who have no sense of humor if that humor insults someone who isn't a white male

"He tweeted the photo on the internet."

This doesn't interrupt any business prospects of Rocky or Stallone.

"It will very likely turn up on some MAGA t-shirt."

And if it's involved in any commercial endeavor, expect lawsuits.

An example of what hood is saying. Berke Breathed who draws Bloom County had on his facebook page a photo of President Trump (and other politicians) wearing a Bill and Opus for president t-shirt. That was fine. Someone on his marketing team that didn't know better decided to use the photo on the merchandise page and that one came down real quick. Same shopped photo but different uses.

If you do knowingly use a copyrighted image to profit without permission the owner of the copyright can sue for all profits plus a large fine.

Deutsche Bank Executive Who Signed Off On Trump Loans Kills Himself At Age 55
November 27, 2019 12:03 am
By Scott Stedman
Trigger warning: suicide

Thomas Bowers, a former Deutsche Bank executive and head of the American wealth-management division, killed himself in Malibu, California, on Tuesday, November 19th, according to the Los Angeles county coroner’s initial report.

Bowers was the boss of Donald Trump’s banker Rosemary Vrablic, according to a New York Times article in early 2019. Vrablic approved over $300 million dollars in high risk loans for Trump starting in 2010. Bowers personally signed off on the Deutsche Bank loan for Trump’s Doral resort, according to the New York Times report. Vrablic’s other clients have included Jared Kushner and Stephen M. Ross.

Anyway, can we all move on from Paramount's clear lack of understanding of American copyright law and focus on what's truly important here?

they probably didn't hear Trump didn't want to sign the bill (as he couldn't care less about human rights, & just wants his trade deal)... but there was a veto-proof majority

so he put out a pathetic statement to try to apologize to Xi:

“I signed these bills out of respect for President Xi, China, and the people of Hong Kong. They are being enacted in the hope that Leaders and Representatives of China and Hong Kong will be able to amicably settle their differences leading to long term peace and prosperity for all”
