The recently-fired CEO of Boeing is leaving the company with a package worth $62 million, the company said Friday – just hours after 2,800 workers lost their jobs over the 737 Max disaster.

Payout details for Dennis Muilenburg, who was ousted from Boeing in late December, were made public in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Muilenburg definitely handled the MAX debacle terribly.

FWIW, he wasn't head honcho during the creation of MAX though. He's an aeronautical engineer by training and became CEO after the MAX had already received initial FAA approval. Prior to that he worked on the defense side of the house, not the commercial division.

He made bad decisions once the crisis hit but the cancer in the organization that led to the MAX fiasco predates him.

Victims families should be able to mount a class action suit against Dennis Muilenburg and take every last cent from him.
