Sanders winning the candidacy gives the greates likelihood of Trump winning the election.

So, yah, why would the Russians not want to help Sanders win the nomination?

Same as the 2016 election. Russia wants to stir up as much discontent as they can. That is why they will be starting (or have started) fake accounts on social media that post outrageous claims on both sides of an issue. They are good at using social media to wreak havoc on the general population. They don't give a shit about Bernie. They probably don't give a shit about President Trump. They just want to throw a wrench in things. They know the best way to undermine President Trump is to act as if they support him.

Jergul, First off...no. If thatbwasbthe case why DID Russia have pro Hillary messages?

I also think its funny ( not haha funny) that Russia so easily gets "caught"... I mean we didnt see a military build up that led to the invasion of Crimea, but just prior to an election the non elected government officers find that the political enemies of the DNC ( admitted fraudsters) are all Russian puppets.

However, we have not got any evidence on HOW this info was found? WHO found it? WHEN it was discovered and what exact evidence was discovered... We are just supposed to take the word of people who told us Iraq had WMDs....

"We are just supposed to take the word of people who told us Iraq had WMDs...."

You mean the top of the Bush administration, and not anyone in the rank and file of the intelligence agencies? Are you suggesting that Bush is fucking with us to this day?

"Same as the 2016 election"

i'm glad you don't let unanimous conclusions by everyone get in the way of a good ole Trump/Fox News talking point

since i dug it up in the other thread, even the R-led committee concluded what EVERYONE concluded: -Russia aided Trump-
http://www...s/documents/Report_Volume2.pdf

"The Committee found, that the IRA sought to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election by harming Hillary Clinton's chances of success and supporting Donald Trump at the direction of the Kremlin"

i would say the worst case scenario is Bernie winning the most delegates but only a plurality rather than majority

Bernie winning by majority also quite risky as he's the most extreme candidate

either scenario would be desired by Trump-loving Russia

~ mentally retarded capo Nunes (& the R's pick to head the House intel committee)

such a fantastic question!!! he really stuck it to the unanimous concluders...

Maybe Bloomberg has been paid by ”Russia” to throw a wrench into the election:

President Trump and Mike Bloomberg have been slinging insults at each other for the past month on social media, but on Friday, the Democratic presidential candidate opted for a new way to troll the president: Billboards.

The messages include:

"Donald Trump lost the popular vote."

"Donald Trump went broke running a casino."

"Donald Trump cheats at golf."

"Donald Trump's wall fell over."

"Donald Trump eats burnt steak. Mike Bloomberg likes his medium rare."

Remember 2014 when Dian Feinstein accused the CIA of hacking Senators computers and they denied it? Then they shortly later apologized for doing just that.

Sidenote, Brennan is the same guy saying je wotries how the US is percieved under Trump....

Its not that you have scandals. Its how you deal with scandals that impacts on perception.

We do not think impeachment is a big deal for example. Its just a sharp censure of an official. But the optics would have looked better if a few more GOPers had broken rank.

Jergul, To you perhaps. The Republican party in the US has been more popular since impeachmen.

-----

So, remember the 2016 election hacking?

Those conflicts, they feared, would surface as the FBI made its final contribution to the intelligence community report on Russia meddling.

"Man, our intel submission is going to be a BOMB," Strzok texted on the evening of Dec. 18, 2016.

"Oh god, why do you say that?" Page wrote back. "Was planning to try to go in early to reach it before our mtg with Jim," an apparent reference to FBI chief of staff James Rybicki.

"Oh it's fine. You've heard it all. I'm just saying the C portion is absolutely different from the bulk of the stuff in the community. And the community and especially the WH will jump all over it since it's what they WANT to say and they can attribute it to us, not themselves.

"All the benefit, none of the political risk. We get all of that," Strzok added.

http://www...hind-the-russia-election%3famp

Hmmm, so oddly it went against the bulk of Intel according to the FBI.

Now the sad thing is that we have lost faith in US intelligence...

A few.more thoughts

Supposedly they found this recent info out a month ago but it just got released leading into Nevada.

Now how is it they had no idea about Crimea... A major military campaign... But they figure out Russia so quickly on election hacking??? Hmm perhaps Russia wants to get "caught"

I wonder what possible reason they could have for wanting to undermine a potus?

Thing is we dont know if this is Russia/us intel or a combo.

You raised the question of his perception abroad. Our perceptions are formed by how you deal with scandals and not the scandals themselves.

Trump's popularity is polling all over the place after the impeachment. From 34 to 51% favourability.

Jergul, Sort of.. What I actually posted was that Brennan ( Obama's via director) said he worried about Trums perception I referenced this as an add on to when he got caught hacking Senate pcs or his team did and he didnt know about it till later.

What do you mean specifically by the Republican party? There are no recent polls on party popularity, so you must be refering to some proxy.

I hope that proxy is a bit more robust than your gut feeling.

So your proxy is Trump's approval rating.

So back to:

Republican Party Image Also Improving
As Trump's job approval rating has improved, so has the image of the Republican Party. Now, 51% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, up from 43% in September. It is the first time GOP favorability has exceeded 50% since 2005.

Meanwhile, 45% of Americans have a positive opinion of the Democratic Party, a slight dip from 48% in September.

Additionally, the poll finds 48% of Americans identifying as Republicans or leaning toward that party, compared with 44% Democratic identification or leaning. Recent Gallup polls had shown a fairly even partisan distribution, after the Democratic Party held advantages for much of 2019.

Gallup observed similar public opinion shifts when Bill Clinton was impeached

Mkay. Just note that the January 19-28 Gallup poll you are citing is at the upper edge of polls on Trump's approval and that the GOPs approval seems to follow Trump's quite closely.

Who else should I use as a source, the media? AKA the guys who spent nearly all of 2016 telling us that Trump had no shot at winning?

"Forgive me if I have more trust in Trump's data. "

do you actually believe there was a poll showing him w/ 95% approval every time he tweeted it?

(i'm not sure there ever was a poll any time he tweeted it)

when he posts his 50% approval, he always notes Rasmussen, however he's never noted the source of the 95% poll (which definitely was not occurring that often, if ever)

The 95% approval was among Republicans only.

Rasmussen ,gallup and I belive zogby all had him around 49-50%

This one probably uses the same polls over. I only add it because the headline is hilarious.

"Trump is polling well enough that the numbers he apparently invents are almost accurate"

I didnt find any 95% , that last headline speaks for itself.

but again his deal w/ the devil kicked in and gotten him close

it's not really a problem, it's for the best if as much of his support as possible is packed into what remains of the corrupted/diseased R party

Yah, what is the vast right wing conspiracy plan for 2024 if its fate is fully entwined with that of Trump?

We know Trump favours nepotism in principle, but does he in fact? Is the heir apparent actually a princess?

I think Trump likes to keep it in the family. His daughter will take over eventually (he has prepared it and is schooling her), and when their children grow up, they will take over to secure the power and the moneys within the family.
