It's not just the flu, it's definitely deadlier and similar to the Spanish Flu in mortality. The biggest issue is how contagious it is and how easily it spreads because many people take a while to develop symptoms. Our hospital system is designed with capitalist efficiency in mind so it has just enough beds and staff at any one time to deal with a normal patient load. About 15-20% of people infected have needed hospitalization to deal with symptoms, about 5% need critical care. So even small outbreaks can overwhelm a healthcare system. That's why the best strategy is to test everyone and to quarantine everyone infected. Slow down the disease by being careful and it's manageable. Not testing for it though is a fucking disaster and will make the spread fast enough so that it can overwhelm our healthcare system. TLDR for cuckservatives: It can infect your parents and grandparents, and also re-infect you. It has killed young people too and you can get re-infected. Wash your hands and avoid people dumbasses.
