Maybe my earlier theory about people who drinks whisky won’t get infected with Corona is true. Or, maybe they will only have mild symptoms?

Poland will now try to drown the virus in alcohol. It makes sense to try to kill the virus with alcohol. If they tell you to wash your hands with disinfectants, then why not wash your body with whisky?

Poland uses contraband spirits to drown virus

Poland on Friday said it would use a stockpile of nearly half a million litres of confiscated contraband pure alcohol as disinfectant to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Like other EU members, Poland has introduced sweeping measures to combat the disease, including closing borders to foreigners and asking people to work from home.

But like other members of the bloc, it is also low on basic medical equipment, like masks and disinfectant.

Working with tax authorities, the state prosecutor's office said Friday it would be "urgently providing state institutions with ethyl alcohol secured during the course of criminal proceedings.

"The estimated amount is at least 430,000 litres (113,600 gallons)," it added, in a statement.

Instead of being destroyed, several thousand litres have already been handed over for use to disinfect public buildings and transport.

Firefighters in Olzstyn, northeast Poland, received 1,000 litres of pure alcohol, while three hospitals in the region received a total 2,500 litres, Marta Rosiak, spokesperson for the local customs administration, told AFP.

Aside from hospitals, contraband pure spirits will also be distributed to police, border guards and other public services.

Reading some further scientific reports, I have come to the conclusion that this disease may be less bad than it seems from Germany and South Korea numbers. There are many asymptomatic people not being tested even in these high-test countries. It is very weird for a disease to be so contagious and yet so virulent. There is usually an inverse relationship.

I think there are 2 things confounding the data. One possibility is that there are 2 strains, one being much more virulent than the other and originating early from Wuhan. Another is that most of our early data came from Wuhan which was inundated with this thing. Even a light disease kills heavily if you inhale a ton of viral load. Germany and South Korea’s lower numbers give me hope.

That being said, this thing is still boomer remover even assuming half the case fatality rate south korea and germany has, it’s still several times worse than the Flu for all age groups at least. And its really really bad for people over 70. And it causes a lot of hospitalizations too.

The best thing is still to slow the spread as much as possible and get better data from more testing to inform future decisions. Also it gives time to develop better treatments when we all get this thing and become zombie carriers.

No vaccine for medical personnel is one of the biggest problems, one example from Germany:
(translated)
http://www...is-auf-notaufnahme-schliessen/

Because eleven employees of the Marienkrankenhaus in Sankt Wendel in northern Saarland have become infected with the coronavirus and a further 15 employees are in quarantine, the 290-bed hospital is suspending operations except for emergency treatment. The Marienkrankenhaus is the only hospital in the district of Sankt Wendel, which borders directly on the Palatinate.

The ban on new admissions was decreed on Friday evening by the district administration in consultation with the Saarland Ministry of Health. A spokesperson for the Marienkrankenhaus said on Saturday that a solution for the 135 patients currently undergoing inpatient treatment is now being sought under high pressure. Transfers are currently being organized. Emergency care, for example for patients suffering a heart attack, stroke or childbirth, will be provided by specialists, but otherwise the hospital will have to be evacuated.

Meanwhile in America, Trump barked at a reporter who asked a legit question what the President has to say to the American people who are worried. Trump barked at him and told him he was a bad reporter. Lol.

Then he said, “Let’s see what happens, I feel good about it”.

Yeah. Trump feels good about it. So don’t come here with your stupid questions and worries! lol, you hear that?

Another reporter then wanted to follow up on that question and asked if the president could address American people who are concerned about the virus. Trump (the supposed President) refused to answer, stepped aside, and handed over the press briefing to someone else.

A major London hospital became the first in the country to be overwhelmed by coronavirus as exhausted nurses revealed they were wearing bin bags to protect themselves.

In a message to staff, Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow said it had no critical care beds left after a sudden surge in patients infected with Covid-19.

Six people have died at the hospital so far with dozens of others struggling to breathe in intensive care.

As pressure grows on hospitals across the UK, one senior health chief suggested an age threshold of 60 might be placed on admissions in order to relieve pressure on beds.

The critical incident at Northwick Park was eventually stood down after 24 hours when patients were transferred to nearby hospitals, freeing up space

Italy is closing all companies.

How bad is this gonna get?

If the companies are closed then many companies won’t make any money and won’t be able to pay their employees.

People who has no savings – how will they be able to buy food and medicine if this drags on for weeks and months even?

Maybe Italy will do what Trump did? Give everyone $1000 and that’s it. People will have to survive on that.

From a Swedish newspaper. I’m just going to translate the lead paragraph.

ANALYSIS · It is too early to say whether the corona virus can be linked to the ongoing climate change. Maybe we will never know. But the corona crisis may be a general repetition of the pandemics that await. Climate scientists have long warned of the spread of infectious viruses in a warmer and wetter world. With its warmer winters, Sweden has increasingly poor protection.

http://www...opplas-till-klimatforandringar

Yeah, we may never know if Corona is linked to climate change. We may also never really know if Corona is God’s punishment for Gay Pride Parades and hatred of Israel. Religious experts has long warned us to not sin and to not be gay because then God may punish us.

Clinicians have long observed an association between excessive alcohol consumption and adverse immune-related health effects such as susceptibility to pneumonia. In recent decades, this association has been expanded to a greater likelihood of acute respiratory stress syndromes (ARDS), sepsis, alcoholic liver disease (ALD), and certain cancers; a higher incidence of postoperative complications; and slower and less complete recovery from infection and physical trauma, including poor wound healing.

Results: When the infection rate of the close contacts and the sensitivity and specificity of reported results were taken as the point estimates, the positive predictive value of the active screening was only 19.67%, in contrast, the false-positive rate of positive results was 80.33%. The multivariate-probabilistic sensitivity analysis results supported the base-case findings, with a 75% probability for the false-positive rate of positive results over 47%. Conclusions: In the close contacts of COVID-19 patients, nearly half or even more of the 'asymptomatic infected individuals' reported in the active nucleic acid test screening might be false positives.

BREAKING NEWS: Germany bans gang bangs, Merkel isolates herself in the Führerbunker

http://www...ermany-coronavirus-budget.html

Germany on Sunday barred groups of more than two people from gathering as Chancellor Angela Merkel said she herself was going into isolation because her doctor had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The chancellor was informed of her doctor’s condition after a news conference Sunday at which she announced the tough new measures banning social contact with more than one other person outside one’s own household.

The doctor vaccinated Ms. Merkel against pneumonia on Friday, the chancellor’s office said.

Ms. Merkel said the new social-distancing rules, which will be in place for at least two weeks, were among the strictest by any country on movement outside the home, and they were announced as global infections surpassed 300,000 and the death toll topped 13,000.

In Germany, the number of confirmed cases risen to more than 23,900 by Sunday, with more than 90 deaths.
[...]
Germany also planned to take on new debt for the first time since adopting a law requiring a balanced budget after the 2008 financial crisis. It will enact an exception to the law to allow the government borrow tens of billions of euros to help companies survive the looming recession and secure millions of jobs.

France: 3 doctors dead (translated)

http://www...us-in-frankreich-tot-340968027

23.03.20, 12:44 dpa AFX

PARIS (dpa-AFX) - According to media reports, two more doctors have died in France after infection with the novel coronavirus. A 66-year-old gynaecologist and obstetrician from Mulhouse in the severely affected region of Grand Est died on Sunday in the university hospital in Dijon, the regional newspaper "Dernières Nouvelles d'Alsace" reported on Monday. He had been practicing in Mulhouse until 12 March and probably became infected during this time, the newspaper wrote, referring to the clinic. He then went to his country house in the Burgundy region and ended up in hospital with respiratory problems.

Also in the Grand Est region, a 60-year-old general practitioner died. He was admitted to a clinic in Saint-Avold on Wednesday with respiratory problems, the French news agency AFP reported, citing the mayor of the town. The entire Grand Est region, which also borders on Germany, is one of the epidemic hotspots in France.

At the weekend, a 60-year-old emergency doctor in Compiègne, some 80 kilometres north of Paris, died after infection with the coronavirus. He is said to be the first doctor in France to have fallen ill and died from Covid-19.
