I've got 3 million +- miles driving truck and been in some weird situations but nothing like what this guy had to put up with. I guess it helps that I'm white. This guy had a lot more cool than I'm capable of.

The truck driver could be a terrorist with a AR15 rifle hidden in his truck. So it makes sense to detain and question him.

Gated communities are synonymous with Paranoid Communities.

They should consider to drop off packages outside the gates.

Apparently the customer paid for home delivery and never told the trucking company about the pit bull inside the gates. This Gated Community should be publicized as a NO GO or DELIVER community. If the people want something there they will have to do it themselves.

Simple notifications would have eliminated the inconvenience the driver experienced.

Inconvenience or attempted manslaughter? Let the skin colour decide.

TJ you are correct. Every delivery or movement or entry by a guest should be told to the President of the HOA. He obviously needs to know everyone's moves and their purchases.

Sort of like living in a high rise in NYC where they have a doorman who logs in all movement.
Sort of like when I worked at the jail, we always had an officer in control who opened all jail doors, monitored all the cameras, logged in all movements with in the jail and those entering and leaving the jail. (That particular task made me learn to type). Plus we got all phone calls coming into the jail.

Before I get rolled into a Nursing Home I hope I retain the wherewithall to blow my brains out.

Tom:

The HOA doesn't need to be notified. The resident of the community could meet the delivery at the gate. It wouldn't place the driver in a time consuming or awkward position. It is the choice of the resident to live in such a place.

I always ask that the delivery driver notify me 15 mins out and no driver has ever failed me in doing so.

I would never live in a gated community. The security is false and not worth the cost and BS.

I've seen brains blown out. Find a less messy method. Those who care for you will greatly appreciate the consideration, I'm certain.

Back in the day I dated a girl who lived in Willingborough N.J. They had neighborhood organizations. The girls father left a battery sitting outside his garage door for less than an hour while he ran an errand. By the time he got back there was a complaint called in on him.

I'll be damned if I could stand living in a place like that.
