Utopia Talk / Politics / America's dumbest politician

I was amazed to seen that this guy was still in office.

http://youtu.be/fGqaeUEYVc0

I miss Gowdy being in office though. Notice how Hank tries to spin the events on the video.

Anyway, has anyone found a dumber US politician than this guy?

I know This will be Trump heavy but keep in mind this is the same guy who thought the military base being built on Guam would capsize the island..... Seriously.

You correctly predicted that nobody got nothing on Trump. Johnson is not stupid and I have no doubt that he was using exageration to make his point. Note the soundbyte structure with a repeat.

Not to be mean, but you would have to be a moron to think he was serious.

He is fine, even if you wanted to make hay out of hep-c foggy mind that the congressman had sucessfully treated by march-2010.

Jergul, I'm have you seen the entire actual video? He seemed pretty serious. Koodos to the admiral for staying composed.

"Johnson is not stupid"

Are you serious?

Also which was it, was he not serious ( because who doesn't joke at congressional hearings)

Or was he a victim of foggy mind thus making him think that Guam would capsize?

He has a University degree + law school and practiced for decades. He ran a very successful democratic primary and punch way above his weightclass to secure the nomination. He then destroyed the GOP opponent with innovative internet strategies (for the time).

Have you heard of Occam's razor? What is the simplest expanation? He was using exageration to make a a soundbyte point, or is he too dumb to breath without help?

Don't be a moron just because it fits your narrative, bro.

"He has a University degree + law school and practiced for decades. He ran a very successful democratic primary and punch way above his weightclass to secure the nomination."

Trump OWNED a college and won the POTUS. Where your man nate silver gave him a 3% chanve of winning. Both greater accomplishments than retard Hank.

"The organization was not an accredited university or college. It conducted three- and five-day seminars"

"New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said the settlement and payment by Trump, "is a stunning reversal by Donald Trump and a major victory for the over 6,000 victims of his fraudulent university"

Mkay, you are either a moron or a fraud. I like you, so you are my special little moron.

Seen your link. I dont know what point your trying to make, he can read?

You realize that I am far.from the only one that sees this guy was serious.

Now Id beleive he was high, he appeared high, but first its a joke, than its a serious metaphor, Well which is it?

If he was joking, then why did he not explain it as such to.the Admiral who responded that no, they did not believe the island would capsize?

What is wrong with you? Anyone with an IQ above 70 knows islands don't sink. Since the congressman demonstratably has an IQ above 70, we can discount any theory that involves thinking he was serious.

I think he was exagerating in a soundbyte format to score his point. You cannot fucking fill up small islands without changing the island's character.

You will have to do better if you want to find someone worse than Trump.

Let me help you. Any evangelical Christian congressman trying to explain the trinity on youtube should be in the running for "more stupid than Trump"

You should google it. I am sure you will find a worthy competator.

Faithbased stupidity is no excuse.

We will have to agree to disagree. It seems clear to me.in context that this was the serious words of either an idiot or someone who was stoned. His speech at the time appeared as if he was perhaps high, none the less it doesn't seem to be a joke in context.

"Where your man nate silver gave him a 3% chanve of winning."

the fivethirtyeight forecast never came close to that probability of winning. Pretty sure it ended around 35%.

Y2a, That was after he won the nomination and it wad like 28%.

"If you want absurd specificity, I recently estimated Trump’s chance of becoming the GOP nominee at 2 percent. How did I get there? By considering the gantlet he’ll face over the next 11 months — Donald Trump’s Six Stages of Doom:"

He goes on to explain why Trump will never get the nomination.

You would think so but he did say it. And no he wasn't joking when he said it. I'm giving him the benefit of doubt though and will allow that he might have been thinking about the added population causing the island to reach a tipping point environmentally and fucked up and said it wrong.
What makes him an idiot is he tried to pass it off as humor the next day.

Michele Bachmann has impressive work in the field of stupidity

& i hope everyone knows Trump did NOT have a college or university... in fact 'Trump University' was sued to stop calling it a university as it was just an upselling scam series of seminars (which is why it was also sued successfully for fraud)

Tw, The comparison was due to Jerguls claim that since Johnson went to college ( mind you a 2nd rate black college) and was a member ofnthe house of representatives and won against odds that was proof alone to say he wasn't stupid.

However using those things for evidence of intelligence, Trump has a far* more successful background.

Trump went to better schools, owned a scam college, won't the highest pffice in the land against far greater odds....must be a very stable genius.

Well obviously, given the hay people try to make out of it afterwards. Exageration for effect is not really humour.

Habebe
Sociopaths with lots of money from daddy can do ok it seems. But we sort of knew that already. The Trumps' only mistake was to let him actively manage stuff. He would have been much richer as a trustfund baby.

It wasn't exaggeration for effect. He slipped. Fucked up. Was thinking one thing and said another. Then instead of says oops I fucked up he claimed he was just being funny.

To borrow from above..

Not to be mean, but you would have to be a moron to think he was joking.

Well, for as long as we both know he did not think Guam would think, then who cares?

Extraordinary theories need extraordinary levels of evidence to support them. Nothing about the congressman suggests he seriously thought Guam could flip over.

He says it was a joke that fell flat. I think it would have been better if he said he exagerated for effect. But that is mostly a matter of taste.

You are simply wrong. Perhaps root up some fundamentalist christian politician to compete with Trumps stupidity? Those people believe insome crazy shit.

Jergul, It would ne extraordinary if he did not literally say it and again if it was a joke when the Admiral responded to it as a literal statement why was there no clarification?

You would give Trump no such benefit of the doubt.look at all.of the flack he got for asking if there was.a.sort.of disk fectant

Disinfectant or uv lights. There is literally good science that shows that UV lights ( specific spectrums) CAN kill bacteria/viruses while not harming human tissue.

Oh, so now your angle is the hypocracy of the left (or anyone with political views to the left of Attila the Hun).

Trump has a clear and establish pattern of having absolutely no regard for the truth. So it follows that he says god awful stupid stuff all the time.

His problem is that he has uncorrigable belief in the value of absolutely everything he says. Him saying whatever provides it with immediate verasity, so he has no need to actually think at all, for everything is by definition genious.
Habebe

No, Im saying your hypocrisy. Many on the left find Johnsons statement to be moronic. Anderson Cooper for example.

Well, that attempt of yours certainly fell flat. Trump has 10 000 (literally. Someone counted) false or misleading statements. That is more than enough to see a pattern. Trump simply thinks his words have inherent value that the objective truth lacks.

Its not that he lies. Its that the truth does not factor in. Any truthful statements he makes are purely coincidenta.

Kargen
Nah, no one fucks up by mistakenly thinking islands sink. He was using it as a figure of speech to accentuate its point.

You afford Trump a lot more leeway and always underline that no one can know what he is actually thinking.
kargen

I didn't say he mistakenly thinks islands sink. I am saying he got his phrasing wrong. I am saying he wanted to say the added population would take the island to a tipping point as far as environmental damage. The phrase tipping point is commonly used when talking about climate and environment. What came out of his mouth was of course what we heard. It wasn't a joke it was his words not coming out right. Happens to everybody.

Well to be fair he didn't say the island would sink either. He said it would tip over. it could still float, just bottom side up.
