Isn’t it a bit late to buy Elders Scrolls and Fallout now?

How many more games in these series are they going to make? Elder Scrolls 14? Fallout 123? Microsoft is buying these games at the end of their lives. I feel like they should retire these games now and make something new instead. But maybe that is da plan. They will be allowed to finish Elder Scrolls 6 but after that Microsoft will tell them to make something new for their Xbox Game Pass?

They're making something new before TES 6. It's called Starfield and it'll be a Sci Fi open world RPG in space... which is pretty much all we know.

If you want to call the 19th most sold game of all time not a succes, that is ... well... perfectly in line with your general knowledge about gaming I suppose.

And companies that have blockbuster hits year after year also resell the same game every year. Only they make some minor tweaks and cal it a new game. But the Call of Duties and the FIFAs and Maddens of the world, while certainly cash cows, are not at all original every year. And sell way less than Skyrim did, of course.

Games take a lot of development... I don't think any studio makes an original succesful game every year. Nintendo EAD has probably been closest to that... but somehow I'm pretty sure that's not who you were thinking of.

I do wonder what game developer you think makes original blockbuster games every year?

I've been playing Elder Scrolls Online since release and it is still a fun game. PvP is wonky as hell right now but they are working to get it going smooth again.

The story lines and voice acting have been great and they release new content each quarter.

I'm guessing this purchase is about works that are in development though and not so much games already released.
